Tribinite

"My magic has been taken from me. I can no longer summon help, or food, or anything at all. My life is in ruins. I am starving here in these mines. I am being worked from before sunrise to after sunset. Bright lights pain my eyes due to a lack of sun for so long. I am going to die soon. For within these Tribinite mines there is nothing but rock and that magic stealing metal. All is lost for me and my fellow Spellbound. For we go mad in these tunnels. We go mad without our magic. We are now living shells without life."

    Properties

    Material Characteristics

When refined. The metal looks blue and ripply. When raw, the ore looks like a red rust in clumps within limestone.

    Physical & Chemical Properties

Whether refined or not, Tribinite has the capability to absorb and eliminate magic around it. The larger the chunk, the larger the radius of it's affect. Tribinite also tends to absorb the life out of creatures of magic, Spellbound, or Reapers-Guild.

    Compounds

Tribinite can only combined with the purest gold. Any other material would cause the Tribinite to emit a poisonous gas. This happens through a chemical reaction with Tribinite molecules and other materials.

    Geology & Geography

Only found within the 8th sea on the Forbidden Isle or in small amounts on the 8th land.

    Origin & Source

    Tribinite is found within Limestone.

    Life & Expiration

Tribinite stays complete unless it starts to disintegrate and create a poisonous gasses. This only happens when the Tribinite is forced to absorb high amounts of magic energy very quickly.

    History & Usage

    History

Discovered by Alan the Adventurer, 3rd year Alan's adventure. Tribinite has been used as a sign of immense wealth. Tribinite has been used for protective amulets, rings and other jewelry as well as weapons.

    Everyday use

Tribinite is known and used for it's ability to absorb magic. Tribinite can absorb more magic the larger the piece of Tribinite is.

    Cultural Significance and Usage

Tribinite mines are a form of labor camp for Spellbound or Reapers-Guild. The Tribinite steals their magic and causes those in the mines to lose their sanity. Executions of Spellbound of Reapers-Guild are done with Tribinite blades. Chains for imprisoning Spellbound or Reapers-Guild are also made of Tribinite.

    Industrial Use

Used by only the most experienced Blacksmiths to make magic deadening swords, daggers, and arrow/bolt tips for Assassins or warriors hunting Spellbound, (or more often) Reapers-Guild.

    Refinement

The material must be smelted in a process much like steel to remove any impurities for better production. Unlike steel, the temperature required for smelting is much greater than any other metal. The only place capable of such heat is a Volcano known as "Death's Gate".

    Manufacturing & Products

Swords, Daggers, Spear tips, Arrow heads, maces, and any other weapon are the most common creation to be made out of this material. Amulets of protection are also made of Tribinite to protect the wearer from anyone threatening them with magic.

    Byproducts & Sideproducts

When Tribinite absorbs magic it produces a spicy odor. The odor is stronger is there is more absorbed magic. If too much magic is absorbed at one time, the odor can poison and kill the wearer.

    Hazards

Tribinite has a chance of creating a poisonous gas when absorbing high amounts of magic. Certain spells cast around Tribinite will also cause Tribinite to emit the gas. When smelting the ore luckily doesn't have any dangerous properties unless around magic.

    Environmental Impact

Tribinite only affects creatures of magic, or those who have been affected by magic within the last hour. If a creature, plant, or thing was affected by magic in any way and then exposed to Tribinite within an our of being exposed to magic, the Tribinite will absorb magic at a rapid pace.

    Reusability & Recycling

Metal can be reforged or remelted much like steel. Old swords can be made new, and amulets can be repaired. This takes more work than steel because of the higher melting temperature.

    Distribution

    Trade & Market

A luxury sold by adventurers or scavengers coming back from long journeys. Most people sell Tribinite for the highest price they can possibly sell it at.

    Storage

Tribinite can be stored anywhere as long as it doesn't have to be absorb high amounts of magic. It is preferred by many that water doesn't get on their Tribinite, but it doesn't hurt the material.

    Law & Regulation

Tribinite is regarded as one of the most expensive materials and has no regulations because of it's rarity.
