Eternal Sisterhood

Description

The Eternal Sisterhood are a militant religious organisation composed of Shal’dorei and, as a very recent addition a few disparate apostates from other races, dedicated to the preservation of the faith in Mother Moon, Elune, and the reverence of her first speaker, Haidene. We embody the way of worship as it was practised at the height of the Empire, embodying tenets of conquest and devotion; not the savage, watered down version that is now practised by Kaldorei following Tyrande Whisperwind. The organisation, whilst of course religious, is not the only focus of the guild. Led by their beloved Matron Erena Lunarglade, The Light beneath the Moon, the Eternal Sisterhood fights for the very thing they know is their birthright: the Eternal Empire unified under a ruler worthy of the goddess’ favour. Where the Queen of Old has failed by forsaking Elune and allying herself to demons. Erena, the self-proclaimed Azshara of the Eternal Sisterhood, will lead her flock to their promised future. No stone will be left unturned to pursue their destiny.   In the eyes of the Sisterhood, Kaldorei are a lost cause. Their false Prophetess Tyrande Whisperwind has stolen from Elune by demanding a power that was only for the Goddess to grant. They are Heretics, and must be corrected by being freed of the Night Warrior’s curse. Why else if not for punishment for hubris would Elune not protect her chosen children against the Horde’s assault? Any Black Moon fanatics that clash with our order are not to be negotiated with and to be bloodied to honor the Blessed Mother.

History

The founding members of Fal’adora’s Priestesses are surviving members of the Sisterhood of Elune from before the Sundering, they have dedicated their lives to recreating the ancient order in the modern complexities of Suramar, adjusting practices and rites to be appropriate for a city locked away from the world for ten thousand years. The organisation was originally founded by the late Lord Zarival Songstrand for the purpose of acting as a way for Elune’s devout within Shal’dorei society to congregate. However following his departure, and eventual death, the Sisterhood has been overseen by the fanatical Priestess Erena Lunarglade, who took the title of Matron (Later Azshara) and heavily reformed the order. She ruled a return to tradition, banning the controversial tolerance of Male Priests and cemented the ideals of Haidene as the Goddess’ speaker & purging the order of the acknowledgement of Wild Gods.   After an excursion to Nazjatar, the Eternal Sisterhood brought an errant Naga Tribe to heel, bringing them into the fold, making them the first Ere’nai. They now follow the doctrine of the Sisterhood, strengthening the emboldened order with followers willing to take the extra step forwards so that the devout of Elune need not sully their own hands. That does not mean The Sisterhood is a wholly altruistic force, for there are rumours around that they may have supported some unsavoury orders in the past, but that is all hearsay, surely a religious order of Priestesses and their accompanying warriors would not resort to such things.   The Eternal Sisterhood serves as a collective of Zealots and Warriors, offering their skills as healers and lunar blessings of war to any group that will help further their goals, permitting they are not forced to fight against their own values. Though diplomacy was attempted the Sisterhood largely does not deal with Kaldorei, choosing to remain focused on Suramar and Horde business.

The Doctrine of the Eternal Sisterhood

Ten thousand years without an active Speaker of the Goddess has bred a more insular approach to worship. The word of Erena Lunarglade, the one and only Light beneath the Moon, is the will of Elune herself. While not a “true” speaker, the Matron makes the decisions that are in accordance to the life the Blessed Mother has intended for her children as was decreed by Haidene, when she spoke Elune’s words to the ignorant masses. The Sisterhood believes that Tyrande Whisperwind does not hold a legitimate claim to the title of High Priestess and that Haidene should be revered as the true Handmaiden of Elune in absence of a “true” speaker.   The Sisterhood also disavow the Black Moon Kaldorei as heretics, believing it to not only be a move by Tyrande to steal the Goddess’ power but also to be a disturbance of the balance of Blessed Mother Moon as favouring one side of the Goddess over the others is to deny her truth. The Sisterhood follow the three Eternal laws that have been lost to time, some say that it was given to Haidene by Elune as proof that she was the first speaker, others claim that it is nothing but heretical texts from a delusional Priestess.

Allies

The Eternal Sisterhood and the 52nd Wildcards of the Bilgewater Battalion have been allies for a good while and are bound by the Pact and the tenets of the Pridesworn. However, recently a lack of contact between the Sisterhood and the Battalion have caused relations to become lukewarm - at least on the behalf of the Battalion.

Friendly

Both of reverence to Mu'sha, the Sisterhood's arcane learnings supplement the Tauren's brute strength, both keen to defend the border of Suramar and Highmountain.

Friendly

Allies within the Pridesworn.

Friendly-Neutral

The Highbloods are very wary and suspicious of the blatant Void worship practiced by the elves of the Eternal Sisterhood, nonetheless, they are thankful to have their help when securing the interests of Suramar and Silvermoon are concerned.

Neutral

The Requiem helped the Eternal Sisterhood in their fight against the assaulting worgens and helped them reach their destination in safety. But aside from that they have no reason to be anything but amicable towards eachother.

Hated

Heathens, defilers, two words the Order would apply to the Eternal Sisterhood. Their blatant worship and use of the Void and their fall further from Elune's grace has made the Order very wary of these Elves. The last straw that broke the Elekk's back, was the defilement of a blessed Naaru, putting these Elves on the Order's Kill on Sight list.

Hostile

Treaty-breaking elves are simply more of the mongrel Horde to the Sentry.
