Star of Lucidus

"That star not only represents the Mana that flows throughout the castle, but it also represents how magic became the foundation of Lucidus itself."
- Walter Velzo, the first Royal Magician of Lucidus
The Star of Lucidus is a large star-shaped Mana gem situated above the entrance hall of the Royal Magic Division building. It served not only as a symbol for division itself, but also an artificial Mana reserve used for experiments and emergency defenses. Because of this, it is considered as a valuable artifact for the kingdom of Lucidus.   Originally created by the first Royal Magician and the founding members of Mana Nexum as part of Lucidus's friendship with the country of Arcanic, the large Mana gem was made to aid them in their Mana and magic research. Acting as an artificial copy of the mana reserves found in the Mana Landmarks, they used it to conduct experiments regarding phenomena related to Mana to minimize any damages and a humane alternative to them. The creation was also rumored to create mixed reception for the guardians of the Landmarks. They later made a second Star after the enemy kingdom's terrorist attack against the division in an attempt to steal their research.   There were many attempts to replicate the Star by many rogue magicians, some of which were ended in or failures or in a worst-case scenario, a fatal Mana drawback. Due to this, the kingdom banned the creations of large Mana reserves to avoid casualties and criminal acts related to it.

Significance

Due to its functions and abilities, it was regarded both as a research tool and defense weapon for the Royal Magicians as they adopt the gem's shape into their emblems as a symbol of their division and magic itself.
