Hospital

I don't understand it... All this focusing on cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing, it's enough to make me sick. What do they think they are trying to do?? KILL ME????

Most people would consider a hospital to be the best place if you are sick. What happens if you are the illness though? For germs and their ilk a hospital is very inhospitable. The nurses sterilizing everything, doctors washing up before surgery. Everyting is just so... Clinical.
After the Great Pandemic of 2020 CE, hospitals became ever more focused on the eradication of disease. Even though hospitals have become more rare since the Year of Hell, those that survived needed to adapt. They expanded and incorporated clean energy in their structures to get away from the use of fossil fuels, which were in part the cause of Global Warming.

History

Hospitals have been around since ancient Egypt. The temples to Æsculapius in ancient Greece (291 BCE) were also houses of healing. What we consider a true hospital didn't evolve until the early nineteenth century when the codices and a comprehensive system for medical conduct was established (1804 CE).
Florence Nightingale was the pioneer for what we now have for nursing staff during the Crimean War. She did this by setting an example of compassion, focusing on patient care and recovery, and with her diligent, thoughtful hospital administration.
During the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, hospitals focused on improving medicine, medical techniques, and consolidation.

Tourism

The only people who ever wanted to tour a hospital were those who were expecting to work there. Those who ended up being in a hospital for other reasons only thought about getting back out into the real world.
