Blood Glade

Legends say this forest clearing cures most ailments, but most never return from the glade

This glade is made for tales and whispers. Stories told in foggy evenings, when the fog of the mind clears and remembers a story. A story someone else told them about, although they cannot remember who told them. Sharp minds will realize how people don't return from the glade, yet stories about the glade continue to exist. But even those sharp minds forget about the Blood Glade when the sun shines and friends sing.

Characteristics

The name blood glade is no misnomer. The plants found within the glade have blood instead of sap running through red veins.   The plants feed of the blood of anyone buried (or sunk) into the Candle River's basin. Although long forgotten, the funerary traditions of tengus, who incinerate their dead, or gripplis of Pertkwugo, who give their dead to a thunderbird stem from a desire to avoid feeding the Blood Glade.

Magic Powers

The accumulated power in the blood blocks all types of magic within the glade, functioning as an antimagic field.   Those wishing to make use of the power accumulated in the blood must sleep in the glade, eat from the glade's plants, and drink from its rusty puddles. Every time they do so, however, they are exposed to the possibilities and potentials of the lives lost and not lived. This drives most people insane.   However, those that manage to perform these three tasks while maintaining their composure, have immense possibilities offered to them.
