Darien Pradexor Character in 100 Worlds | World Anvil

Darien Pradexor

Darien Pradexor was a male Warlock hell-bent on brining destruction upon the world. Early in his aspirations he pledged his life to Mother Hydra, one of three Gods of the Deep Ones. He used his rewards (the ability to read all writings, to magically disguise himself, and cast spells) to carry out her bidding.

His early efforts involved building a cult of followers (See Deepstar Cultists), which he achieved rather easily at the city of Selfax. Being on the coast, Selfax had a fair number of people who weere superstitious about the oceans and what lied beneath.

As the cult grew, he was then tasked with recruiting a cadre of spellcasters one of which was the gulible and impresionable Ranala Fane. The collective efforts of the cadre helped them find and locate a nexus point at the bottom of an abandoned mine near Greenbriar.

Following the bidding of his patron, Darien attempted to capture a host of townspeople and deliver them to the Old Ones for their hybrid breeding purposes. The plan was foiled by a group of upstart adventurers who happened upon the plot quite by accident.

Darien later resurfaced in the The Dragon Age Caves under Lorcaster. At this time he was apparently morphed by the power of his patron - gaining a tentacle and a new alien eye. He seemingly escaped the same group of adventurers into Charnelhouse - the dimense of Incabulous via a portal from the Contagion Pits.

Finally Darien was encountered deeper in the The Dragon Age Caves, this time further modified into a gigantic sentry that was draining the life force from victims. The same group of adventurers foiled him for third (and seemingly final) time.

Cult leader Darien, embraced by his dark patron.
