The basement level of the Academy of Thorn'Adan is an expansive and crucial part of the institution, designed to support various essential functions and provide secure, hidden spaces for different activities. The layout of the basement includes the following key areas:  

Smithy

  Description Located on the edge of the basement, connected to the catacombs and a nearby beach. The smithy features a high ceiling of 50 feet, accommodating large-scale metalwork and magical forging. This area is essential for crafting weapons, armor, and magical items used by the Academy’s inhabitants.  

Sewers

  Description The sewer system runs through parts of the basement and connects to the catacombs, eventually expelling waste into Loch Ren. The sewers ensure proper sanitation and hygiene within the Academy, maintaining a clean and healthy environment.  

Servant Loggings

  Description This section provides housing for 400 servants who assist with various tasks around the Academy. The quarters have a ceiling height of 25 feet, offering comfortable living conditions for the staff.  

Battle Ring

  Description Hidden within the catacombs, the battle ring serves as a training ground for combat practice and magical duels. This area allows students to hone their fighting skills in a controlled, secure environment.  

Catacombs

  Description The catacombs are a maze-like structure that connects different parts of the basement. They provide hidden passages and secure areas for storage and secretive activities. The catacombs add an element of mystery and intrigue to the Academy, often used for clandestine meetings and safeguarding valuable artifacts.
