Physical Description

Yaz'zyrral is a drow male of average height a little bit on the skinny side. While not particularly strong or speedy, Yaz is very resilient and has taken care of his health through some exercise.

Body Features

The dark grey skin and the white hair that flows to a pink gradient are a few of the most recognisable features of Yaz'zyrral with his cyan eyes - all features he shares with his older sister. While Yaz'zyrral has become a man-size, there is still some childlike softness lingering on his face. His hair is long and well maintained, though he finds it quite unpractical at times. He has few freckles.

Identifying Characteristics

On his left arm, Yaz'zyrral has a sleeve tattoo that resembles a spider web. Such magical tattoos are quite common in his family.

Apparel & Accessories

Yaz'zyrral prefers capes, coats and robes that have high collars, long sleeves and they obscure most of his body. This is both a comfort factor and a safety measure, as this also hides everything he carries and makes it harder for others to attack him while feeling comfortable and looking slick. He wears some jewellery and is usually well put together. He is never far from Suspe, his sentient spellbook, that he treats with care and affection, like a pet.

Wizardry has always been in Yaz'zyrral's blood. In game play terms, he is a wizard of the School of Scribes.

Mentality

Personal history

Little Yaz'zyrral was born at an unfortunate time. He was his mother's second child, must to his aunt Shrinalin's dismay. Tensions between sisters about the family politics were rising and at the age of 10, Yaz'zyrral's mother Shurafae was murdered by Shrinalin, and Shrinalin adopted Yaz'zyrral and his sister Charadia'stra and took ownership of their father.

Education

Studying arcane arts as well as court manners have been part of Yaz'zyrral's training. He can be quite nimble in addition to being clever. He has read quite a bit of history and has a fascination with architecture.

Mental Trauma

Losing his mother at an early age in a violent manner has left Yaz'zyrral particularly cautious of people outside of his closest family, making him suspicious and reserved around new people. He can be quite clingy when it comes to his father and sister and feels reluctant to make contact with outsiders. This includes even some people he would like, but fear of being betrayed again makes him slow to warm up.

Yaz'zyrral has a tendency to get neurotic in some situations, which mostly comes out in stressful situations. He uses drawing as an outlet for many of his more difficult feelings, and sometimes his innocent-looking doodles hide macabre and dark double meanings.

Intellectual Characteristics

At first glance, Yaz'zyrral comes out calm and quiet, even a bit simple. But this is just an act that he keeps up to ensure his safety. Yaz'zyrral likes a good conversation, and is very bright and observant, even if he isn't always allowed to all information he needs to arrive at certain conclusions. He can be rather patient, though his nerves look more steely than they actually are.

Yaz'zyrral is endlessly curious and loves to explore new things and concepts when he gets a chance for it, and gets fascinated about how things work and how to improve them or learn from them. Some of his interests might sound very strange to other people.

Motivation

Lust for knowledge and endless curiosity drive Yaz'zyrral, together with his survival instincts, though the two tend to occasionally end up in conflict with one another. His most unyielding devotion tends to be for his family, more specifically his father and sister, together with his want to punish his aunt for her crimes.

Likes & Dislikes

Yaz'zyrral likes reading, exploring and discovering, drawing, architecture, history and arcane studies. He also enjoys animals and nature to some extent but has very few opportunities for this passion, as his trips outside are very limited. He loves cosy clothes and even enjoys exercise like dance, gymnastics, climbing or parkour as long as he can do so freely when he feels like it, and not for other people's entertainment. He also plays the dulcimer.

While not opposed to physical touch entirely, Yaz'zyrral has very clear boundaries and doesn't like to be needlessly touched, especially by people that he considers strangers. He has so far shown very little interest in romance and is appaled by the idea that he should show any interest in romance or sexuality. He isn't a big fan of small talk, and would rather talk about meaningful and exciting things than simple pleasantries.

Family Ties

Mother Shurafae has become somewhat of a mystical figure for Yaz'zyrral, as she was murdered when Yaz'zyrral was just 10 years old. Yaz'zyrral feels great resentment against his aunt Shrinalin, who murdered his mother and now claims to be his mother instead. While Yaz'zyrral complies outwardly, inside there is a storm and bitterness.

Closest person to Yaz'zyrral is his sister Charadia'stra. Chara is Yaz'zyrral's hero and took the place of his mother in his life after his mother passed away. He is very frank to her sister and tries to aid and help her in any way he can, with great conviction.

Yaz'zyrral is also very close to his father, though as he has grown, he has become a bit more reserved, keeping small secrets from him. This is not out of malice, but a natural coincidence of growing up and becoming more independent, but also his way to save his father from trouble and heartache. He cares for his father greatly.
