Another dark turn of events. I thought after Jina we would have peace of mind, I was wrong.
Since last writing in this journal I went to stasis only to find the crew completed the mission with the smuggler prince. They were rewarded, and no one had the thought to get me out. I would be angry writing about this if the events that just transpired did not occur.
We needed to refuel and restock supplies on the station near Xini, while our ship was undergoing repairs we looked for work. I heard our crew was also rewarded with illicit resources our crew planned to sell. What are we smugglers now?
It looked like Iroh had a completely new body too. He is a true pariah; fully cybernetic a twisted amalgamation of augments and sculpts, it disgusts me though I know we can only rely on each other. They told me he had this body out of necessity, that he and Jabbar(rest in peace) entered stasis after I did when we left the prison ship, Jabbar carried his paralyzed body out as he was paralyzed by a dark bound.
I went to help repair the ship and speak to the station manger, while everyone went off. This started easy, we were offered a job to repair a damaged probe. The miners didn't like us from the start, but it was easy money and we had nothing better to do. We took their ship, the mission was easy enough for me, though our newest member young Yacub had some issues on his first space walk. Luckily he was out there with me, we almost fixed the probe without a hitch, but we had to take one of those miners, that almost cost us our lives, he wasn't much better out there than the boy and wasted our oxygen. Maybe that's when I should have realized it.
Hassan had to pull us back with all his force, and fortunately he saved us. That's when the data came in, Yacub interpreted it, we stumbled upon something that could have made us rich. The gate of an emissary, one of those who claim to be an incarnation of an Icon. We should have known forces were at play against us.
The mining chief was found dead the next day, 3 surviving miners with us. We interrogated each of them, they all seemed suspicious but none of them seemed like the killer. That was until we found talismans, talismans of the martyr, the sign of the Order of the Pariah. Of course we didn't know this until we finally killed one of them.
Before that they attacked Yacub and Amira, Izaldin and some of the others ran forward, Izaldin was sucked out into the vacuum of space, somehow she survived out there in time for Hassan and one of the other prisoners to grab the Deathwish for a rescue. I rushed in and killed the one, the other two escaped into an armed grav craft. Amira stumbled upon bombs, at that point I had resigned, though she kept me going, I disabled the explosives on the gas mining station. We were able to take on the surviving two and take them in for questioning.
I think Hassan felt something, this was the first time I saw this darkness come over him, the Martyr, he was a follower of The Judge as well but he followed a different aspect. He ordered me to come in, I knew what we were about to do would be horrifying, but I didn't flinch. Call me a madman I did what I had to violently torturing those two, no I can't call it torture, I partook in what for them was a religious practice, the judgement of their Icons, I was just a tool that enabled the justice of Hassan. Hassan sentenced one to death and carried out that execution. The last one he judged life, however I had disfigured him, he was the one to reveal that they were Order of the Pariah.
This changed everything for me... Order of the Pariah, besides the Draconites these were the other boogeymen, though they stay in the light, they ended the last Horizon in an instant, they would end us quicker. They know our faces, our names, our crimes against them, we know of the Portal of the Emissaries. Luckily Hassan knew the way of The Judge, but I fear he only bought us time, now that the Order of the Pariah has caught wind of us, I fear for our crew.
We did get to keep their ship, a mining ship but it could be useful at the markets when we get back.
