To My Beloved Grandparents,
The trip to Millmire came swifter than I expected. This land is filled with so many interesting and unique peoples. It is a shame I will be spending most of my time working. The first few days were filled with meetings and intrigue. I have met some people from a Guild, Arcanic Armada. They seem like good folk. I was given board at a decent home. The Silvertoe Boarding House. The dwarf family who runs it are good, seemingly kind folk. They make food which smells so good and provides a comfortable place to sleep at night. I am sharing a room with a Half-orc at the moment. Brüz. I believed him to be a well-meaning person. Yet he appeared to have some difficulties. It was said to be trauma but that is all I know. From what has been said and displayed, he has a powerful build. I wouldn’t wish to be locked in a room with him.
I am doing fine for now though, and have made many acquaintances. Yet one friend so far. A young woman I decided to take on as an Apprentice. Kaisra. I hope to train and treat her well. And will be better than my mentor was to me. She is the hope I have for this tradition. She is the hope I have to prove that we, who have such a finite amount of legitimate life, can pass on and acquire great knowledge without the use of supernatural means.
I still cannot understand why I have such a grudge. Maybe one day I will let go of it. It will way down my soul and mind should I carry it too long. I miss you both. Send me your good thoughts and wills.
With Love,
J.
