Arthoms 20th letter (S2E1)

by Arthom

*written in Druidic*

Dear Celia,
As you're well aware, I've left the grove to travel back to Zynii with gurvel in an attempt to rescue Ko'rava.

That Giant Lizard form came in very handy to cover the large distance from the heart to collect Talu from her father, Who it would seem was attempting to marry her off to another, much to her disgust. This open many doors for a wee bit o' banter.
In the process her father may have been less than kind to Talu, and I may have lost my cool a little... While she may be painfully Naive, she has a kind way about her and I've come to realize in our time apart that I actually appreciate her hopefulness, though I'd die before I EVER admit it. I don't want to see that beaten out of her by the world and I'll do what I can to keep her from unnecessary harm.

After the Trio of us were reacquainted, we made all haste towards the port town of Fiain, where much to my dismay, we encountered by great misfortune, Lucid. Apparently Gurvel told IT about ko'rava being in trouble and as such he has joined us to return to Zynii. Yay.......

As we headed out from port, Gurvel came up to me as I was appreciating the view and began to annoy me, as he seems very fond of doing.
In an attempt to prompt some quiet I gave him that wooden arm you've seen me working on for a while. He seemed to appreciate it more than I could have anticipated. Quite literally JUMPING with joy and shouting about his new gift I gave him. I'll admit, I did have to stifle a smile a little bit. His simplicity does make his reactions.... pure I suppose, unrestrained and uninfluenced by societal norms or the nuances of the situations he finds himself.

While sailing we were set upon by pirates who claim to be from the Black Skull guild.
These fools attempted to convince our hired captain to hand the ship over, to which they obviously had an issue with, which prompted an annoyingly lengthy discussion between all present parties to try and negotiate an alternative, which to no ones surprise quickly derailed and became an obvious lost cause.
But, to our benefit, the discovery was made that the soul that Lucid had absorbed ws in fact that of their former captain, and seemingly lover of the new captain. Once this realization kicked in the pirates VERY quickly changer their tune, attempting to coerce Lucid into Joining their crew.
Eventually they made an outright offer, some assistance from them, and the chance to leave peacefully, in exchange for Lucid to Rejoin them after Ko had been saved. I agreed to these terms Without hesitation, as did Gurvel, and even the captain of our vessel. The only one who disagreed with this deal was of course, innocent Talu, trying to be friends with all around her.

They sent two dwarven crew members with us to Zynii, and all we gotta do is bring them and Lucid alive back to the ship after Ko is saved!
This is a great deal to my mind.

We're about to come into dock at Zynii, so I'll have to dash.
I'll write to ye again when time permits me to.

Yours,
Arty
