Treasure in the Well? Say less.

by Daretti Da Vinky

Notero's a good looking city. It's no Verdantport, but its got its own scene. Lots of different types of folks of every shape and size. You love to see it. On the ship here, I met a construct that goes by the name of Malth'Nurn, means old friend in Dwarvish. He's an old battle model, thought his was obsolete, but I could immediately tell that someone had been tinkering on him. He must've gotten real banged up some time ago. Even more interesting was when I learned who the person who did the fixer upper job on him was. Sheesh Daretti, you don't believe much in faith or destiny but this sure has been a hell of a coincidence. His repair smith has the same name as one of the guys on the letters you found on dear ol dad's desk. Malth seems like he wants to get back in good graces with this guy. I can't let Malth know yet that his guy's on my sh*tlist. Pops will probably try to come for me or send someone to find me. No way is he getting his hands on Mama's work. I'll make him pay that rotten ol' miserable bas- Anyway we found this wizard, Armitage. Real earnest fella, has some sort of map that leads to a well, where there's this undead thing called a Devourer. It's also the location of some sort of royal treasure. I'm in. Maybe I'll find something useful in that well. I've got to keep myself protected so the sooner I can get my hands on some scrap and heavy armor, the better. Thanks dad for the Guardian and Infiltrator armor blueprints, ya old bozo. They should come in handy soon. Oh yeah, forgot to mention. Erastus and Elaria. Erastus is a Mizbasha, the first I've seen. Elaria, is an elf who seems a little nervous. They seem pretty close and harmless, though Erastus's wide eyed stares kinda scare me. They're to accompany us to the well, as well. Really Daretti? Wordplay? I'm hilarious! Though I wish the clerk at the church thought I was funny. C'mon of course I know mention of undead in a church was sacrilegious. They didn't have to kick me out! After we left town, we found this weird pond. There was a strange gelatinous layer to it. Erastus got all wide-eyed and sketched out by it. Next thing I know two undead came right out. I was a little freaked out, I'll admit, but they were easily dealt with, didn't even break a sweat. They're no match for an artificer of my pedigree! I've got a tool in each of these belt pouches for every occasion. Two firebolts, one from me and one from Armitage was all that was needed to get rid of that film on top of the pond. Badabing badaboom, necromancy has no place within a delicate pond ecosystem. Y'know I could get used to this whole adventuring thing, as long as I'm in a party like this one.
