Humbling beginnings

by Will Grubb

Well hello there. The name is Will, treasure hunter extraordinaire. Born among my fellow Hobbits in the Shire, I was never considered ordinary. Encouraged by hearing the countless stories of mister Bilbo Baggings, I too decided to embrace the spirit of adventure. This finally led me to Woodmen town, where my adventures began. Following a request by the King in Esgaroth, I met a group of fellow adventurers with whom I decided to travel. The group consists of five people: me, the brave Hobbit, skilled in trickery and underhanded tactics; an arrogant Elvenfolk by the name of Hithion, who, despite his ego, is an excellent archer; A very large menfolk wearing a bearskin who is quite skilled in cleaving enemies in two, whose name is Beregond; Findegil, another menfolk, slightly shorter than Beregond, and quite skilled with bow and arrow; and finally Tharon, a dwarvenfolk slightly larger than myself, who can squash the heads of his enemies with his hammer. The five of us set of traveling towards the King, helping other along the way as we heroes tend to do. About half way into our journey, we came across a trio of dwarvenfolk by the name of Snorrie, Borrie and Haar. Feasting upon the pig one of them had acquired, we quickly settled down, played a few games and found the hay. Shortly into our rest, we were captured by menfolk who brought us before a fair maiden by the name of Gailavira, accusing us of theft. We learned quickly of the horrible warg Greymuzzle Hob, who attacked the village after not receiving his dues. Within a short fight, I was critically injured by one of Greymuzzle's underlings. By the time I awoke, the beast was slain and we were cleared of all accusations. As a token of honour, the fair maiden became our patron and allowed us to have Rowanhold, the place we were dragged to, as our first sanctuary location. And thus our adventure began.....
