BYOC at UnCafe
We gathered together again at the
UnCafe. There was much to discuss from everyone's investigations.
Aloys confirmed that
Maphre of
The Pneuma was indeed at
Calivan, the madhouse for the magically insane.
Eurydice Manikas of the Glowing Palms spoke with the late
Variagan who was now a ghost due to furniture infestation accident.
Variagan confirmed that the
Seeker of Souls? was hunting the members of the Pneuma since
the War ended. Strangely,
Variagan also spoke of something that either I or
Aloys Vizara de-Lascaux only remembered upon hearing. Namely, that
Axon and
Caulder Slade were the founding members of
The Pneuma. Also, the Pneuma principle of cooperation and charity were due to
Aloys.
Variagan had sealed his house to protect himself, but had somehow invited trouble in the form of his house and goods being spidered by demonic invasion.
Variagan was also under the same effect of not remembering
Limerance Street and was starting to have difficulty recalling
Mercy of the Pneuma. The main points that we learned were the following though:
- if Axon hid Limerance Street then he would have told or entrusted Maphre with details
- that Thirteen Station ghosts were alternate/other worlds versions of vislae
Elkan of House Argent, III had made a ring that would conceal against remote viewing that he named...ugh... the ring of mist direction. We considered scrying on Caulder Slade again with this as a precaution but opted to go to Menter's for some more research first.
A Conversation at Zero's
Trying to summon
veston card, we were unable to do so as there was interference in the
The Noƶsphere being caused by someone.
Aloys Vizara de-Lascaux weaved a spell to track the source of this interference and we were off. We arrived
zero's. Going in were told that it was a neutral hostile free place. In the corner booth with void filled eyes and a bespoke pin striped suit was none other than
Dark-eyed Manfred. Suprisingly, the conversation was civil and informative with only a few implied threats. We learned the following:
- Caulder Slade was diminished and so far unaware of our return from Shadow and investigations
- Dark-eyed Manfred aka D.E. Manny was under contract as long as payment was given to kill the members of The Pneuma
- something else? my notes are vague here
Research at Menter's
Leaving
Zero's, exactly where we wanted to be. We found the following things in our research:
- Seeker of Souls, there has been rumours of it since the war but not much else
- Lockless Key is an elusive serpentine creature used to decipher secrets, with the danger of it wanting to consume you
- Daltho Castron is the editor in chief at the Strange Glass Illuminator who reported on the murders by D.E. Manny
- Thirteen Station is at the end of Amago Street
Angry Clock and Confusion at Thirteen Station
We arrived at
Thirteen Station and
Elkan of House Argent, III promptly began questioning the turnstile. Strangely the turnstile could not count or say how many had gone through, perhaps none. We did learn the ghost trains came through on a schedule as if the station was truly active. Before we could go much further however, there was an angry clock that demanded we leave. When we refused, it initiated violence by striking and painfully hurling me through time a few moments in the future. Through some small amount of effort we were able to use our magicks to stop the angry clock and reduce it to a somewhat carryable form.
What comes next is very difficult to explain. We encountered many versions of
Mercy of the Pneuma . However it proved trying getting them to stay and talk rather than leaving for the next train.
Mercy of the Pneuma appeared ghostly but seems to be versions of themselves from slightly different Actualities. Some of them knew me, some knew
Aloys Vizara de-Lascaux but all slightly different versions of events from what we remember in our Actuality. After many attempts we were able to learn from one version the following:
- Axon would have told any plans he made to Maphre
- The Pneuma headquarters was/is located on 316 Limerance Street which should be up the street by the Egyptian temple where a elaborate fountain now is
- Caulder Slade lived somewhere in the Fade
- Mr. Cymbir one of Mercy's clients, a seeker of knowledge
- Most of the Mercys did seem to have Lockless Key and were about to use it to decipher a secret
...
the Best Ball and the typical human children
Leaving
Thirteen Station and bidding
Mercy of the Pneuma adieu we went up the street to the elaborate fountain where
The Pneuma headquarters should be. Instead we just saw some children playing with a bouncy ball that really seemed to be the
Best Ball ever. We employed Indigo magic to reveal what must be hidden here, and discovered the children weren't children at all but had masks that said "typical human child" and behind that was darkness and void. As they ran away, I held them in place with a word so we could interrogate them. Their names were John & Toby, but actually they were
Viddishin's, demons from the dark that wear the maks of other creatures and have some ability to see the future. They very much wanted the Best Ball from the other kids but we were able to bargain with them on just releasing them from the spot I held them in. Through their vision of the future they confirmed that we must seek
Maphre to solve the mystery of
Limerance Street.
