A Journey Begins

As I lay in bed last night waiting for sleep to take me, I thought of the whispered conversations I overheard and of the deafening silence that occurred when I walked into a room. Everyone knew my abilities were weak. Even my younger siblings are more powerful than me, though none of us came close to being as powerful as my oldest sister. She has always been talented, but also humble and kind. Even when everyone else picked on me or ignored me due to my lack of talent, Asuna would help me try to learn. I think I will miss her the most.
 
At dawn I was greeted by the council. They gave me supplies and walked me to the village entrance. As we approached the entrance, I noticed that most of the village had shown up to watch me leave. My family was among those that weren't there. "Do not worry child," Adran and Adrie said in unison. The twins were two of the more powerful council members and usually remained silent, preferring to let the rest of the council do the talking.
"You will learn much on this journey and face many dangers."
 
"During the trials ahead you will do great things and make many friends." Adrie said as if finishing her brothers thought.
Once again speaking in unison, they proclaimed, "This journey will be long and take you many places, but when you return you maybe the most powerful among us." After they finished speaking, the twins turned around and walked away, leaving the rest of the council to follow behind them. Once I recovered from the shock of hearing the twins prophesy, I turned and left the village. As I left I found myself hoping they were right and that some day I would return.
