On The Run Again...

by Adunesi Temple Prophet Prospérine Giselle Raufort (Auvrahael)

They found us.

My father's goons appeared as if from nowhere.

Coming to my door guised as an injured wanderer, but behind that lie was a group of bandits who had captured and beaten Rolim and Aywin. They named themselves the "Wolves of Argos" and wore a symbol bearing a pike and wolves head, and used my beaten parents against me - forcing me to open the door and let them inside lest they kill the pair; where they proceeded to intimidate me, forcing me into manacles and outside towards their cart... I managed to convince the 'vaarn' pig-stains that I would leave with them willingly and calmly, without a scene - so long as they allowed me to heal Aywin and Rolim. They were both beaten within an inch of their life, and I was worried without immediate care they might have been bleeding internally.

By divine intervention or plain dumb luck, the very same Dragonborn, Argen Duage, that has been checking in on Nala the past ten-day knocked on my door, and I was able to inform him I needed help. I am still not sure what I did, or how, but somehow I was able to get a message through to him - magically. He seemed to understand and left, presumably to get his gear or call on the Blades of Oros - or worst case - The Gnoll-Choppers. Regardless, I was restrained and guided forcefully through the Edgewater streets, slick with rain. I almost tripped several times, I was a mess - crying and sniffling like a child... I couldn't help it though, I didn't want to go back. I didn't want to see Thaladin again, let alone become entrapped inside another prison.

As the leader of these thugs, Failen was his name, escorted me through the streets - and we closed in on the gates... I was moments away from leaving town and on the way back to Enchiridon. I was promised Rolim and Aywin would remain safe and alive if I went willingly, which I agreed to. But I realized that Faelin wasn't honest with me, and that he was indeed more than likely going to have the other Wolves of Argos kill them once I was safely restrained on the cart he had outside town. My kidnapper's were in the middle of paying the guards off (so much for the Blades of Oros being good guys, I know they're mercenaries and they do what they do for gold - but I just thought they'd care at least a bit about the one family keeping Edgewater above water right now... Guess not.) when Argen, thankfully, caught up with us and cut the transaction short.

Due to his distraction, I was able to escape Faeilin's clutches, and alert the rest of the guards to the scene. It seems that they only payed off the initial guards on gate-duty, because the remaining guards did indeed help me. With this change in events, and the tide turning in our favor, Argen dealt with Faelin while I rushed back to the Raufort Ranch with half-naked, groggy guards following my trail. With some quick thinking, we were able to storm the ranch and successfully save Rolim and Aywin, while taking out the remaining bad guys.

The capture of my kidnappers led me to be able to ask a few questions, and try and gather as much information from him as I could. The remaining bandits were on track towards Deepwater Bay, and they know where I am hiding. I also learned more about Argen, who the Wolves of Argos also seemed to be after. He is from Argos, obviously, but something happened, I was told he's a bad guy. But a bad guy wouldn't actively prevent my capture without much to gain for himself, would he? Anyways, who around these parts hasn't done something bad? I was told there was a big bounty on his head, which makes the pair of us a humungous target. But we have a common enemy, a common goal, to remain hidden and unknown - and then disappear again.

If we are to successfully do any of that, we have to silence the remaining bandits that are making their escape to Deepwater Bay. Throwing them off our trail would buy us more time, as well as Rolim and Aywin. Although my mind was made up before I told them, I wanted to be sure that they knew I was only doing what I had to and that I would be safe. It took a while, because Rolim is protective and stubborn, but Aywin managed to convince him to let me live my life, and that "...It was time."

We made a plan, the three of us, for them to sell the ranch and travel somewhere else to reposition and hide themselves. They will write to me in Deepwater bay, at the tavern they call The Slobbered Beard - and tell me where I can write back to them. I wish we didn't have to separate, but I know it's necessary. I endanger them by being around and they endanger me. I also wrote to Sylmaar, letting him know that father found me and to write me at the Slobbered Beard as well.

Argen and I agreed to meet come sunrise, and venture out in the hopes we can stop the bandits from even arriving in Deepwater Bay. We will see how lucky we are.

It is time I face my fears. My father must be stopped.
