A well known author who has written many books on the Sword Coast and monsters. Many people know him more for being a braggart and embellisher.

Volo met the group for the first time at the Yawning Portal, recruiting them to search for Floon.
 
After their successful rescue, he provided them with the deed for Trollskull Manor, revealing he was interested in it for the rumor it was haunted.
 
He wrote an 'ad' for them labeling them the Bumbling Breakthroughs, which has garnered them a lot of attention (wanted or otherwise).
 
Since then he has worked to help the group, connecting them first to Aethrex and then to Zendari.
 
He met the group again at the Shipwright's Ball, where he continued to introduce the group as adventurers he had discovered.
