A beautiful woman, Ireena, stands tall with auburn hair drifting down her back. She's the daughter of Kolyan, the deceased Burgomaster of Barovia, and sister of Ismark. She exhibits strong loyalty to her father and brother as well as a strong independent will of her own. A well-mannered and educated hostess, Ireena sees to the comfort and entertainment of others with hours of engaging small talk. 
 
According to her and Ismark, she has become an object of obsession for the ruler of this land, Lady Strahd von Zarovich, but they do not understand why. In addition, whenever the party questions her meetings with Lady Strahd, her answers are vague and distorted. In addition, leading up to her father's death, wolves patrolled the perimeter of her home, but mysteriously stopped at the death of Kolyan. With danger of another visit from Strahd increased due to her father's death, the party has agreed with Ismark to move Ireena to Vallaki or the Abbey of Saint Markovia. 
 
The party first met her at the Indirovich mansion in the village of Barovia where she elicited assistance in burying her father, Kolyan. Upon completing the consecration rites, Donavich, related that Ireena isn't blood related to Kolyan, but instead was found in a meadow outside of town near the edge of the Svalich woods.
