Father of Elisef, head of Kaladel's guard. After being ordered by King Kalosis to execute the town's clergy, Beneford asks the party to kill the mad king. He promises to lead the city back to prosperity in the aftermath and pays handsomely for the act of regicide.

Beneford was head of the guard under the rule of King Kalosis for many years. Mora asserts that Beneford took advantage of his status as much as he could in his time in office; more interested in personal glory than duty to the king.
 
The party meets Beneford during their stay at his house in Kaladel as a guest of Elisef Ironfist after the events surrounding the first dungeon. During their stay in the home of Ironfist, the party learns many things from Beneford about King Kalosis. The king has grown increasingly paranoid and insane over the years. Kalosis does not even trust his own guards, instead surrounding himself with assassins of the Adamantine Soul.
 
After King Kalosis ordered the execution of all clergy in the Belt of the Gods, Beneford knew the old king had finally gone completely mad. Something had to be done! Beneford asked for help removing the corrupt old leader from power. Shamash himself was a clergyman who lived in the Belt of the Gods, so the party decided to end the threat Kalosis posed to all figures of organized religion in the city.
 
Beneford promised safe passage to Kalosis's chambers, however once inside the party would be on their own against the fearsome guild of assassins known to guard the king.
