Personal history

Dev is the son of Tessa Freewind and Lady Ashryn Silversong.
 
Lady Ashryn was a noble and Marine Captain of Tir'Tar'Ashylia trapped in a loveless marriage arranged by her parents. Often volunteering to serve out on ships rather than stay home it was during one of these tours her ship was caught and badly damaged during a storm, washing up on the nearby continent. With mostly plains in sight, Ashyrn and some of her soldiers set out to find timber that they could repair their vessel.
 
Tessa Freewind and some members of her druidic order were traveling between druidic circles when they were set upon by gnolls. Despite their magic, they were greatly outnumbered and would have been killed had it not been for the marines' timely arrival. Seeing fellow elves being attacked Ashryn did not hesitate to lead her men to their defense.
 
Though the marines were able to save a number of the attacked elves, Tessa's husband was one of the ones killed. With their ship damaged by the beaching, Ashryn agreed to escort the wood elves to their home in exchange for supplies and druidic magic to fix their hull.
 
She grew close to pregnant and mourning druid during this time, and found she preferred the more simple life amongst nature than her city life back home. She resigned her military commission to her second-in-command and chose to stay when their ship was prepared to leave. Moving in with Tessa and helping raise her newborn child, the two soon fell in love and found a happy life to build.
 
Devachandra, known to most as Dev, grew up with two mothers who loved him very much. Learning the druidic arts early, he always showed a strong connection to nature and the spirits who resided within. It was during these years he saved a uniquely large and powerful otter from poachers. Known as the River King amongst the local villages, he named him Delenor and the two became inseparable.
 
Once Devbecame of age and finished his apprenticeship to his mother he underwent his order's Trial of Spirits.
 
Sent to the spirit realm, He met and found a fae who would agree to serve as his bonded. Returning to the mortal realm with Miri, he finished his rite and underwent the ritual which would bind Miri and a number of spirits she directed to him on the mortal plane.
 
Idealistic and friendly, Dev chooses to see the best in people and has begun to experience a wanderlust. He is well known amongst the wood elves and humans of the border of Dulon, often called upon to aid them in the untamed lands. He usually helps freely,, rarely asking for much in return. A commonly shared joke amongst the locals is sending new people to meet the River King and his servant Devachandra.

Education

Entirely home schooled by his two mothers. Ashryn balanced Tessa's more natural knowledges with more civilized ones.

He chooses to see the best in people and believes almost everyone has the ability to better themselves. The world would be better if everyone approached it with open minds and open hearts.
 
However there are times when sickness and disease must be culled to save the forest.
