Personal history

Albrecht Baumgartner was born in Dettenhausen, Germany just south of Stuttgart. He lived just outside of the Schaichtal nature preserve where his father was a park ranger.
Albrecht spent the majority of his childhood playing in the forests on Schaichtal. Albrecht quickly gained a love for nature and spent his free time making bug collections, cataloging birds, planting trees, and above all else admiring flowers.
 
Albrecht's mother suffered from schizophrenia ever since he could remember, but whenever he'd bring her flowers it was like she'd come back to reality for just a moment. This fueled Albrecht's growing obsession of learning everything there was to know about flowers. He began planting flowers around their house so that he'd always have flowers to show his mom.
 
When we was 12 he started to really get into genetics and making his own colors of roses by breeding them together. This was always a topic of conversation with his mother who increasingly became worse and worse.
 
In June of 1935 Albrecht's mother was sent to Brandenburg Asylum.
 
In February of 1940 Albrecht's mother was killed in Brandenburg Asylum as part of Action T4.

Education

Has a PhD in botany.

Employment

Works for KWS Group Research Scientist doing quantitative genetics data analytics. He works using a VPN to appear in Germany while he works.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Lead a group which saved the local nature preserve and his hometown from being turned into an airport in the 1960s.

Mental Trauma

Mother had schizophrenia growing up, was taken away when he was 17, and killed as part of Action T4 when he was 22.
