"Godric was born into the noble House of Solvi, a family of respected landed knights having holdings near Greyhall broaching the forest, and lordship over two small villages, one composed mostly of hunters and loggers, and the other a small mining village set against the mountains which provided reasonable amounts of silver, copper and good limestone for building. The main line of the family was ruled by Sigband "Red" Solvi, who had a Son (Rikard) and two Daughters (Ophelia and Wulfhild). Sigband was primarily known for being a doughty warrior in his youth and his many adventures as a Knight-Errant, and for his impressive flaming red beard.
Godric's Father Jarrick was the second son and so did not inherit the primary title, but was still possessed of a knighthood (which he could pass down) and a place of administration at home should he desire it. His father once came into a brief romantic contact in his youth with a Throne Archon while he was acting as a Knight-Errant, resulting in the birth of Godric. Due to the sudden change of having a child thrust upon him, Jarrick returned home and quickly married the lady Kara, who served as his mother for his life, and was the biological mother of his younger half brother Vilmar.

Godric was blessed as an obvious Aasimar form a very young age, having bright golden hair and eyes that often shone with the light of the heavens, especially when angry or frustrated. As such he was given special attention from those outside the rustic domain and pledged as a Paladin to the order of (whatever the fuck fits in the setting) in order to fulfill a martial role of Good that was surely his destiny. Godrick excelled at this martial training and was judged likely to make a resplendent knight to bring the house acclaim and honor.
When Godric was 22 he attained the full breadth of his knighthood and was honored in a ceremony before the inhabitants of the two villages and his families estate, with visiting dignitaries from neighboring fiefs and his order present. After only a day of festivities Godric was given an assignment to hunt down and eliminate a pack of demon wolves that had visited destruction along the countryside in a wide swath, said to be led by a corrupted knight wielding a blade possessed by a Loumara who had long overtaken his mind. Godric set out to this task and quickly met another who had take up the same quest, a female Warcleric named Alecto who had sworn to see these demons purged and removed from the land. Godric was quite happy to accept her aid and for 3 days the duo developed a rapid friendship and bond in their mutual hunt.

Alecto led Godric to ambush the demon dogs at a dead end cliff in the middle of the wilderness, splitting the forces so that he could quickly duel and slay the Knight while she held at bay the hellhounds. The battle was chaotic and went back and forth several times over the course of half an hour, leaving both Knights wounded and exhausted and several hounds slain with Alecto almost maimed in the process. Godric drew upon his strength and heritage and lashed out to strike down the wounded knight when Alecto cried out for help facing the last two demon hounds who had encircled her and knocked her prone to the ground. Godric stopped his assault to rescue his comrade, and the corrupted knight used this opportunity to flee, stepping over cliffs into a river below and letting it carry him away.
Being heavily wounded, it took the pair of dogooders nearly 2 weeks to cross the rough wilderness back to his families estate, where he returned not in honor and acclaim but to see that in the meantime his rival knight had gotten there first, devastating the local militia and slaying both of the Lords Daughters before being driven off again. After recounting their harrowing story to his family, in their grief, Sigband and Rikard accused Godric of malfeasance in failing to slay the demon knight, telling him that his failure resulted in the knight claiming his cousins as vengeance.

Unwelcome in his family home, Godric set back out on the road with Alecto to hunt down the demon knight and end him for good. All the while Alecto whispered honeyed and poisonous words to him, fueling his anger and guilt, blaming his family for their selfishness and the realms authorities for their complacency to allow it all. It was not long before he was ready to accept Alecto's offer of the power to slay his rival in exchange for abandoning his oath to the order of the (whatever the fuck) and striking a new bargain with her own lady Zariel in exchange, promising that never again would he forced to suffer such sacrifices for the greater good. Godrick accepted, becoming an Antipaladin in the service of Zariel, Lady of Avernus.
Godric has never found the demon knight, but has taken up with a band of mercenaries contracted to the Devils of Hell, which he uses as an excuse to travel the region and ply his trade ever looking for his rival, though at times he has almost forgotten his original goal, throwing himself religiously into the cause of Asmodeus and basking in his newfound freedom and ambition.
