Dante Veeris is an Ashlander who was taken by slavers at a young age and sold on the black market, destined to die in blood sports or toil to death in a mine, but was purchased by the Order of the Silver Rite, who instead trained Dante to become a Blood Hunter.
Dante's childhood was spent among his own people, and though his formative years were spent with the Order, in the vacinity of normal human society, Dante never became overly familiar with human culture and norms through his training.
A pragmatist, Dante's views of what is right and wrong are colored by his survivalist and mercenary lifestyle, but immediately after Dante was released from the Order to begin his work as a Blood Hunter, Dante experienced a brief existential crisis brought on in part by his heritage, feeling out of place and also having an innate desire to fight against the greed and corruption that resulted in him being taken from his family as a child, and so Dante joined the Hellriders, only to quickly realize that his views of the world were far too grey to realistically ever fully commit to the ideals of the hellriders.
