Kai was raised in a monastery as an orphan. When she reached her teen years, she became possessed by a demon and was forced to kill everyone who lived in the monastery. A priest was able to expel the demon from her body, but the damage had already been done. Her soul was corrupted with pain and she started taking it out on society. She became dark, practically a monster. Deep down she knows she must atone for her sins but she's just too damaged to bring herself to that point.
