Mathis is a bald, elderly, Rock Gnome who serves under Francesca Underhill as the stage manager and booking agent for the House Of Cards casino. He dresses in the red robes with black trim that all casino employees wear. He has a significant amount of chest hear, some of which is visible above the lower neckline of his robes.
 
He is equal parts dry and calm and frenetic. Above all, he believes that the show must go on, and becomes very high energy when things put the night's entertainment in jeopardy.
