Origin

In 3902, Lupe was walking down Calle Marfil toward the Saul Miralles Institute of Advanced Research and Development where Vivian worked when it detonated under mysterious circumstances, leaving behind a crater in half a city block radius around it. Everyone within that radius was killed, their bodies never recovered, and the Cortes Generales was quick to denounce the disaster and cordon off the area. Lupe, at the edge of that radius, survived. Traumatized by the affair, it did not take much convincing for him to spirit away his niece, Sofia, when she begged to leave home.
 
In 3907, Lupe agreed to be reincarnated as a younger version of himself by Sera, so that he could comfortably be with her and also escape the infirmities of old age.
