Personal history
Gaalos grew up on Jol. He attended Wun-Escha in his university years on the merit of his original thesis - an original idea of how computers might communicate across light-years of space without losing data integrity. This original technology would revolutionize the galaxy and ensure the control of it meant that the University Headmaster gained the Imperium. But it was also a dangerous experiment in multi-spectrum quantum entanglement.
Gaalos grew up with a twin, a contentious older brother named Geluin Na. They fought constantly, and when they weren't fighting they were consumed with contentious arguments and debates. Neither could admit their wrongs, nor the other's rightness. Geluin Na continued their father's thesis on disintegration weaponry incorporation into starships, an idea that got their father blacklisted from University teaching positions.
Gaalos and Geluin had both reserved adjacent labs one night out sheer "happenstance" despite University codes that required space between dangerous experiments. Something happened, and neither Gaalos, Geluin or the University could explain what caused the massive series of explosions. When threatened with expulsion when the University investigated, Gaalos claimed to have seen Geluin right before the lab blew up. After a lengthy investigation, both Gaalos and Geluin were expelled and their theories struck from University record.
Gaalos was adrift, exiled from his home, and made a living working as an in-house technician. No one inspected the falsified degree he made. He never heard from his family again, and doesn't know beyond rumor what happened to Geluin. Rumormill has him making weapons of some sort for a shady organization. That's no better than Gaalos though, who wound up on Station Sumerian working IT for the Nomad.
A year ago, the Nomad "seconded" Gaalos to the Keleres - meaning he ordered Gaalos to volunteer and continues to pay a salary to him for information on certain factions' maneuvers.
