Kirex grew up on Wren Terra but was trained at the War College in Agiz on Arc Prime. Kirex is part of a very minor noble family - The Solaris family. Her upbringing was very different from the average Letnev, and very different to the training she received at the War College. While she became a Commander, she is haunted by the orders she followed to receive her post. Finding out about the Keleres and then seeing the opportunity to join them, Kirex acted out of self-preservation for her mental health. She transferred herself to the Keleres, justifying her actions as "taking away the burden of the quota." She doubled down and boldly asserted that she did it "as a gift from our House to yours," addressing the Baron and the tribunal.

Kirex' family, the Solarii, were retired veterans of many wars. Both mother and father had been both injured and traumatized by their time in Letnev society and chose to withdraw almost completely. They raised their children to be strong and competitive, but in as loving and friendly a way as they could. Kirex' siblings and she actually get along well. The others chose different pursuits, but Kirex was never unambitious and was determined to soar.

Kirex' motivations for her maneuvering were kept secret. While she truly believes in a Council-backed investigative para-military agency concerned with law enforcement that exists outside the Great Civilizations, the organizations pulls her away from the toxic nature of Letnev life. The Barony has no idea that her loyalty is placed squarely with the Galactic Council and not in the Baron alone.
