Session 4, Pt2 - Ruins and Dungeon

by Aerendyl Shadowglen

In the annals of the glorious Aerendyl Shadowglen, let it be known that it was my compatriots and I that overtook the ruins of Hawthorn. A dilapidated castle, its once grand halls now infested by trolls and bandits alike. I devised a cunning plan to use the trolls as a distraction against the bandits. The trolls, it seemed, were more cunning than anticipated, their beady eyes too aware of the bait we set. But our brutish orc Ungrot, using the simple trick of mirrors and light, managed to rile them up, and they rushed the castle, engaging the bandits in a chaotic battle. In the confusion, with a timing as perfect as my own reflection we slipped quietly into the castle tower. To further the chaos, I, with my razor-sharp wit, hurled insults down onto the trolls, igniting their rage, and furthering the conflict and distraction.

We descended into the bandits' underground den like shadows, securing the entrance behind us. Our bard managed to enchant the orc guards, causing them to stumble and fall. The room was vast, well-lit, and filled with potential riches. Our mage, in a moment of glory, doubled his spell's potency, sending the remaining orc guards into a deep slumber. I woke Ungrot from his magical stupor, and we launched our assault on their page mage. Broggnarl managed to draw first blood. Ungrot, bless his orcish heart, tried to charge the mage but only managed to scrape him. A little magic from the mage, and Ungrot was frozen on the spot. I then took matters into my own hands, gliding in with the grace of a panther and the ferocity of a dragon, and slit the mage's throat. Victory was ours. In the aftermath, we discovered a treasure hoard fit for a king - or, in my case, a legendary elf thief. Among the spoils were magical shields, weapons, gems, coins, and a bronze flagon. A room filled with every holy symbol known to us was also discovered - a pathetic attempt by our fallen foes to garner favor from the gods, no doubt. And so, another chapter in my illustrious saga closes, another tale of treachery and triumph to inspire future generations. Let bards sing of Aerendyl Shadowglen, the elf who conquered Hawthorn, and let my legend grow.
