Province of Origin: Muster Province (Dawnport )

Summary
Born in subservience to a noble family of Muster Province, Calathor grew up on the estate of a minor noble house, living just close enough to the nobility to crave their lifestyle. He sees the academy as his chance to rise through the social hierarchy. Until then, he plans to exaggerate his social standing to fit in and advance his goals.
Backstory
As the son of the lord’s falconer, Calathor’s days were (reluctantly) dedicated to learning the family trade: rearing, feeding, cleaning, and training the hunting birds of the estate. Any reluctance or truancy was met with punishment—often forced labor performed under duress. To this day, Calathor still carries scars on his left arm from being compelled to train falcons without the protection of a falconry glove.
Two key incidents shaped his adolescence:
- First Incident: While the majority of the estate was occupied, Calathor slipped into the Grand Library and discovered a dusty tome that spoke of a great hero of old — the archmage Valtorion der Habicht, known as The Silent Tempest and a distant ancestor. Inspired by the tale, Calathor began pursuing his own arcane gifts.
- Second Incident: Years later, a research expedition from the academy arrived at a newly uncovered archeological dig site near the estate. Calathor followed the group and met Caelynn Galanodel, a Half-Elf bladesinger and researcher. One night, he found Caelynn practicing bladesinging in a clearing. After weeks of pestering, Caelynn agreed to teach Calathor the basic steps of the bladesinger art — but only if he promised never to set foot in the Born New Military Academy. Calathor has since forsaken this promise, driven by a desire to master arcane knowledge, become a powerful spellsword, and break free from servitude to nobles forever.
