Appearance
Physical Description
Tall from a human perspective, Glenn stands at 6'5". The meat of his body is lanky looking, but he has the stocky bone structure of a human and wide shoulders.
Facial Features
He has fair features and unblemished skin, his ears slightly pointed, but not to the same degree as a full elf. Still, the two combined betray his heritage. He wears his hair long, and when it covers his ears he can be sometimes mistaken for a much younger human male.
Identifying Characteristics
Recently, certain spells he casts have caused dark markings to appear around and under his eyes, his veins taking on a sickly hue. It goes away not too long after.
If listened to very closely when his cloak is open, the sound of insects can be heard. They otherwise remain silent due to the cloak's magic.
Apparel & Accessories
Glenn can usually be seen in his adventuring attire. A long green elven made cloak atop the shoulders of his scale mail, backpack and shield on his back with his shortsword at his side. His hood is usually down around town, though on the road it's more often than not obscuring his features, the shadow of the hood enhanced by his magic and insect companions.
Mentality
Personal history
Growing up with a human family, Glenn learned of his elf parentage from a young age, his father a human and his mother an elf. Though his father was always unwilling to give more details, always saying it wasn't his tale to share. He was raised with two human siblings, a brother and sister, both younger than him. His family, including his step mother, all treated him well enough, and he learned the family's trade of carpentry. Eventually, a few years after he'd come of age and saved up enough money he left home to attune more with nature, hopefully find out more about his Elven heritage, and make a name for himself.
Living in the wild, he learned the ways of the Ranger, hunting and patrolling the roads, protecting travelers. He'd eventually meet a Kobold named Itchy, an unlikely kindred spirit who taught him the ways of Swarmkeepers. They eventually separated, but Itchy left him a parting gift, a shortsword named Scratchy.
Education
A fairly decent upbringing from the perspective of a small town in the Northlands, his family's carpentry business was able to provide and apprenticeship, and he'd learned Elvish from his father despite him being mysterious about his history. Regulars to their business helped him learn Dwarvish, and he later also learned Undercommon and Draconic from Itchy during his travels with him, where he learned more about being a Ranger, both traditional and unorthodox.
He eventually found it a necessity to learn Orcish, while he knows not all Orcs are bad, it's an unfortunate truth that many ex-slaves don't have the regular means to make a living, and thus prey on travelers in the Northlands, so he studied the language to understand the speech between those he stalked, as well as to warn them they had best prey on people elsewhere.
Employment
Originally a carpenter in his home town, he is now employed by the Gilded Guardians as an adventurer in an official capacity.
Accomplishments & Achievements
He has survived three somewhat harrowing adventures well beyond what the group was expected to encounter, he and his companions holding the line to slay a horde of Gnolls in a cave, as well as their Vampire leader; Lady Ivalna Falkath.
The second involved saving the town of Svenstead from an ailment the people were suffering. It culminated in finding the corruption of a druid grove, and slaying the monster within. Glenn did not come out unscathed, something within that place having affected him deeply when he came back from near death. The group encountered a powerful woman named Mirai, who they were lucky to part ways with and still breathe.
The third was an investigation to find if there was anything to help he and his friends with the problem they'd all experienced after the second outing, a solution to the Soul Shattering they had experienced. It led the group to a White Orchid temple that had been abandoned after an attack. What followed was an investigation with two archaeologists into the deeper parts of the temple, before the party split from them and delved deeper, fighting many an undead, and eventually a Demon, of which Glenn delivered the finishing blow. They had found a cure for their ailment, as well as a new and strange ally in the form of a Revenant. On drinking the magical water beneath the temple Glenn's condition and the darkening of his magic did not fully dissipate, but it was now under his control again.
Failures & Embarrassments
The dark magic he obtained in the Svenstead incident, while useful, is not something he likes people to know about. He avoids using the more death attuned spells as much as he possibly can, knowing what could happen to him and those he cares about if it gets around that he's capable of them. Being able to turn invisible is kind of nice though.
Morality & Philosophy
A defender of Good, Glenn will go out of his way to help others and always try to find the outcome that benefits the most people. He is not shy about violence, having defended plenty a traveler from highwaymen and monsters before joining the Gilded Guardians. He follows the law when the law is just and right, though not always to the letter, and in nature one must follow their intuition and gut instinct. For example: the strange powers he has acquired may be wrong as far as law is concerned, but he knows he can use them to help others.

Personality
Motivation
The reason he'd set out on his journey initially was to find out more about his heritage, the people he came from, as well as the other side of his family, and attune more to nature to get the life experience of both a human and an elf.
Now, though, that comes second. He wants to help people, and the Gilded Guardians have offered him a good way to do so, maybe later he can use some of the money to go traveling and pursue his original goal, but for now the plot that he and his companions have uncovered needs to he investigated and stopped first.

Savvies & Ineptitudes
Glenn is good at talking to people, having a lot of experience from working in his family's business, as well as interacting with travelers on the road. He has met all sorts of races and peoples, and can get along with just about anyone, be they Good or Evil (within reason).
Being a Ranger, he is good at surviving in the wilderness, and is an expert tracker, he can handle animals and, being half Elf, has above average vision and balance.
Despite being a very personable fellow, Glenn is quick to anger when he sees injustice, or others being treated poorly due simply to their heritage, whether that be an old Evil that has turned over a new leaf, or someone being discriminated against due to their race. He will get involved when he otherwise shouldn't, and when he is angry he is not as delicate with his words, often escalating these situations.

Contacts & Relations
Positive Relationships:
His family of course, including his siblings and human parents, as well as the people of his home town. He is known there and gets along with the people who live there. He said goodbye to all of them, rather than leaving suddenly, and they all wished him well.
In the Frontline Initiative alongside Dyan Fangcracker, Bryce Wrynn, Rat-Man John, and Wilcorl Stark.
Aided Stella in the Svenstead incident, decent rapport with her in the Gilded Guardians.
His membership in the Gilded Guardians is overseen by Ragnar, who knows about his darker abilities, Glenn trusts him with the secret and is always forthcoming with information about any new developments to him.
Negative Relationships:
Mirai, he doesn't know much about her, and he isn't sure what she knows about him, but he knows what she did to the druid grove and surrounding area, and that cannot be forgiven.
Family Ties
Human side of the family, he is on good terms with his father, step-mother, as well as his younger brother and sister.
He does not know anything about the elven side of his family, his father being mysterious whenever questioned on the subject, simply telling him he will find out on his own some day, and that the journey will do him good.
Religious Views
Glenn, like most people he knows from his home town, pays respects to various gods when appropriate, rather than being fanatic about one in particular. Pray to the god of the sea when you're crossing the ocean, thank the appropriate god when having a feast, curse a name from a particular religious story when swearing, that sort of thing.
Hobbies & Pets
His 'pets' if they can be called that are the swarm of insects in his cloak. He has not named any of them, though he is interested in seeing where the sentience they seem to have obtained after their exposure to the shadow magic goes.
Speech
Generally soft-spoken, but can get high-strung when agitated or fighting. His dialect and accent are human, which would be instantly recognized by an elf no matter how elf-like or not his appearance may be.
