The Cleric who wears a helmet constantly. Generally untrusting.
Some people have bad thing happen to them because of the things they do. For others, they just didn't have the luck of the draw.
Faraam remembers little of his parents before they burned at the stake. Faraam had only his siblings, Martin and Selena, at his side. The three weren't alone for long as the soon found a warm reception in the local orphanage of the Korrolian clergy, having a surrogate family closer than blood.
Faraam was set, a teacher, a family, and a future ahead of him. Everything changed when he drew a single card from a strange deck, he fate sealed in the flames on the card.
Faraam's happiness quickly vanished as more and more things Faraam treasured disappeared. Faraam had lost faith until a deity reached out to him and sparked a desire for answers and revenge.
You can count on Faraam to be in the front of the battle, taking hits meant for others. But don't count on him to shed some sympathies openly. Faraam may struggle to get his point across, but you can count on him to never flee in the face of adversity.

Show Spoiler
Made an orphan early in life, Faraam was sent to live in an orphanage alongside his siblings with other orphans. Each child would study and learn under a specific instructor who would be of a certain deity, relating to which one the child would follow. Faraam studied under one such instructor of the (light or life) domain and quickly made friends with other children, including on such Walter. During a training break, students went into town for a celebration where Faraam was attracted to a vendor's stall who convinced Faraam to play a game of drawing cards. Faraam pulled one card, a demonic entity surrounded by flames, and his life was sealed. His instructor's lessons became more brutal and ruthless, never giving Faraam a break and getting increasingly violent in his treatment of him. Eventually, the teacher forced Faraam to kill criminals and suspected criminals until his teacher was apprehended. Faraam then went to work for inquisitors, using his talents to the best of his abilities. He was investigating an abandoned house, suspected of housing devil worshipers where he was knocked out. When he came to, he was in a room that was clearly intended for ritualistic sacrifice. The head of this cult was Walter, Faraam's best friend, who attempted to get Faraam to join him. Faraam refused and at this point, the other cult members were revealed to be the other orphans. Walter, sensing he couldn't turn Faraam brought forth two people reveal as Faraam's siblings and killed them. Faraam managed to break out of his bonds and charged at Walter and fell unconscious. When he came to, he was in the same room but not evidence of the previous night was present. Other inquisitors quickly arrived at the area and apprehended Faraam on what looked to be involvement in a cult. Faraam convinced them to give him a chance to exonerate himself to catch the real cult. Until then, Faraam was under just as much suspicion of being in a serial human sacrificing cult. Faraam noticed he had a severe itch in his neck and when he looked a a mirror, a mark, now like a scar was there which never had been before and it seemed to radiate softly a pale, yellow glow. Furthermore, in his pocket was a crumpled sketch of an foreboding city with the name Carcosa written at the bottom in infernal alongside the same mark on his neck. Faraam, having lost his faith in his own deity, went to a shire to pray for any guidance whatsoever. During his silent plea, thunderclouds rolled overhead and the very air seemed to tinge with static when the god of storms, Hemelvuur, had reached out and touched Faraam, giving him his blessing. Faraam decided that his life wasn't going to get any better and that if he wanted to change his fate, he had to do it himself. So Faraam began his journey for Answers for what has been ruining his life, Revenge on it, and possibly finding out whether his siblings are living, or among the dead.
Education
Basic education due to his orphan upbringing with the church. Received great education and learning during his inquisitorial training on what to believe and where to look for clues. Faraam is well versed in basic alchemical training as well as investigative work. He is well read and often looks to literature for answers as all sorts of tales and stories can be stored timelessly. Faraam knows a great deal on local legends, fairy tales and other mythological studies in his search for the King in Yellow, as such their is likely few ancient tales he knows nothing of. Some of his more esoteric knowledge comes from learning how to hunt beings beyond mortality, such as demons, devils, abberations, undead and even celestials
Faraam, more than any knowledge learned in schooling, prides himself on the education he has learned first hand in what he believes to be the truth of the world and lessons of strength.
Employment
Works as an inquisitor whose duties involving hunting down heretics, eliminating creatures like fiends or abberations and hunting down the occasional rouge priest. Although these are official inquisitor duties that he only has done in the past thus far. Currently he is more of a vagabond, taking money where he can find it.
In the past, Faraam had church duties more in line with what one may think of when someone says they are a man of the cloth while he was a cleric of Licht. Nowadays, the only cleric duties he undertakes is in his fighting as the god of storms is quite bloodthirsty and is fine without ceremonies and only asks for one to be a force on the field.
Accomplishments & Achievements
A well respected Inquisitor with several years experience of locking away criminals and heretics. Managed to survive an encounter with a demonic cult that should've been certain death. Earned the favor of the god of storms.
Failures & Embarrassments
Failed to apprehend his foster family who betrayed him. Possibly became corrupted by a demonic entity in the process.
Rather than a failing on Faraam's part, due to his near death experience, Faraam has felt a failure on the part of the gods, particularly Licht, the sun god. Due to this experience Faraam felt that he never truly felt a divine spark of magic within him, and has just felt used, ignored and cast aside.
Mental Trauma
Faraam has deep seeded trust issues that stem from early life. Not being able to trust his teacher or surrogate family really did a number on him and he isn't willing to be open with himself to others. Faraam has a lot of pent up aggression and rage which builds up over time, from feeling helpless to change his fate and the fate of those around him. As such, when Faraam looses a passion for revenge and the will to struggle, he falls into a depression until he can get back on his feet. Faraam's pent up aggression need to find an outlet before Faraam does something he will regret. The brand on his neck lets him let loose, but he is also afraid of himself for what he may do.
In addition to this, while Faraam has felt magic, he has never truly felt a divine presence within him and is convinced of the apathy of the gods, equating them to playing with mortal lives like a game of chess. To him, the only person he can trust, is himself.
Intellectual Characteristics
Faraam isn't hasn't been educated in the high class prose which nobility tend to favor, although he has received decent education. Faraam does have apprehensive knowledge of medicine and such. From a philosophical standpoint, Faraam leans most towards nihilism in a stance that all life comes to an end eventually. Life itself has no meaning, it only has meaning that you give unto it. Faraam cares little for debating or discussing intellectual ideas, and prefers to stick to what he knows instead. Although, he does entertain the idea of guiding people to make their own choices to grow stronger as people, even if their ideals and his clash.
Morality & Philosophy
People each must take their own paths in life, allowing each and every person to have to struggle against the challenges in life. By meddling in the affairs of another, you are cheapening their worth. People grown and become stronger by fighting against the struggles in their life. Helping another often deny the chance for them to grow stronger as a person and takes meaning out of their life. By giving in the charitable acts, you can often more harm with an extended hand than a clenched fist.
Faraam believes that suffering comes from weakness, perceived or not. If you lack the strength to defend your beliefs that you and your very beliefs are wrong. Strength can come in various forms but when it comes to strength, physical strength is nothing compared to the power of ones will. Without the strength of will to move oneself forward, people will hold themselves in check. Everyone's past forms who they are and what they believe which forms wall around ones spirt, or breaks those wall down. One's mind makes one powerless - and gives strength to other. If one cannot come to terms with the past and become absorbed in it, they lack strength. Raw strength is nothing compared to the power of one's will. To believe in an idea is to be willing to betray it, something you can only do with strength of will. One must not rely on the strength of others to compensate for them for there will all ways will come a time when one is truly alone. It is through such conflict that a person, culture or teachings may test themselves. They will find themselves, or find themselves lacking.
True strength comes from another place. Often there are those individuals with an excess of will, continuing to search of an even greater strength beyond themselves. This is a hollow power granted and undeserved. True strength comes from being able to deny strength that is not your own. The only power one needs is themself. When one is offered power and they accept, they deny part of themselves, granting temporary power by eroding their will, weakening themself. This lesson is such, the true lesson of strength is denying power that is not your own. If you cannot trust yourself, you cannot trust anything.
Faraam views his usage of divine magic as a tool for him to use like a sword rather than a reward for devotion to a divine being. Faraam places no faith in higher powers and has never truly felt any divine spark within his soul. To him, the gods, and higher beings can all be damned. Their very existence is a blight to mortals. What good is a god who ignores his followers, or a devil who gives away powers and promises to people, weakening their very soul? All the gods could die for all Faraam cares, and if he could, he would kill them himself. The existence of the gods in of itself, cheapens the mortal struggling. Faraam knows from experience that people often turn to divine powers as a reason for why event happen. This he hates. Doing this is merely turning responsibility away from oneself, and if the gods are truly responsible, by what right are they granted to meddle in mortal affairs? Although, Faraam equally hates the apathetic nature of the gods, not wanting to help their followers and is content to watch the believe who believe in them suffer without action. To Faraam, Apathy is death. The gods weaken humanity and other races. A world without gods would be a harsher world, where only the people with the proper strength of will could prosper.
Faraam is partially frustrated with his reliance on such magics, but believes that as long as he never truly prescribes to religious zeal that has consumed other clerics, that he can make the power his own, as a tool rather than devotion. Faraam once believed that he felt the presence of divinity with in him. He could both describe it's presence and absence.
Feeling divine magic was like
feeling the warmth of the sun without the glare, feeling the light and heat without the harshness. It is like a current that passes through you, connecting you and every living being together and carries you to all the places that it may touch. It is the rising swell at the end of life, promises of new adventures and the call of new mysteries in the dark.
The Absence was like
standing at the summit of a great mountain, feeling the sun and the tearing winds, only to find yourself buried alive: trapped, helpless and alone. It is like having the energy of youth and feeling the cloak of years fall upon you and knowing you are a weak and fragile thing most easily forgotten. It is like a beloved friend with whom you have shared everything, sacrificed everying who then betrays you and forgets all that you once were
Faraam has a deep-seeded hatred of the gods, but more personal is the hatred of infernal beings. Faraam believes that their kind deserves to be butchered and hunted down. His reasons for this are not of noble reasons like saving the innocent, or passion for justice or even devotion to the gods, it is a pure desire for revenge. No devil deserves mercy, and those who form pacts are just as liable. Among all these beings, he holds a special hatred of the King in Yellow and desires its demise. Faraam has spent much of his time in recent years to hunting down any trace of his reach and trying to find the source of his corruption.
person.sexuality
Straight, although he feels as if he has too much responsibility to dwell on romance as well as feeling undeserving of any attention he receives. If someone where to be nice enough to love him, they have proven they deserve a better person.

Taboos
For Faraam, anything regarding devils and sacrificing innocents is a big no no in his book. Hurting orphans as well is a quick way to spark his ire. Lastly, the existence of one such Walter, quickly angers him.
On a lesser note, Faraam dislikes people giving themselves completely over to an ideal as he believes that that cheapens the value of ones self.
