Over breakfast Hexagonal and Lazulia decided to try and pick up the trail of that templar fuckwad we're theoretically pursuing from Aldrefield. --- Sidebar - the fact that a chaotic being such as L is a cleric of a more orderly god really shows that the gods are as fucked up as we mortals --- It seemed a good idea, but those two have the subtlety and situational awareness of a rock and I wasn't sure they even understand who those fascistic zealots even really are, so Garth and I decided to go along as well.
We barely made it out of there. The two of them made demands to see the Master, the fucking regional Master, oh hey we're nobodies but let's just talk to a fucking general and make demands of the garrison. We did find out that Marshal Dickwad only left this morning, so if we don't fall too hard behind we may actually be able to catch him and the child before Anerith. He'll probably be waiting for us though, so surprise seems unlikely when we do catch him. The questions we asked were raising enough suspicion before Lazulia decided to fucking cast a spell. In a fucking Templar garrison. Why not just walk into the rare manuscript section of a fucking library carrying a lit torch. They almost arrested her, the boy too when he tackled a guard and we just got out of there.
It could have gone much much worse, we're alive and intact, but there's no way they just brush the incident off. Not those stuck up prick boils.
We made it back to the tavern and Farantur met us at lunch to see if we would take the job and explain the details. We agreed and I'm starting to wish we hadn't. The locals F hired apparently know the tunnels under the city well enough to find the way to this house we're to rob. So yeah, lets trust those fucks to get us there safely.....tried this new little coin flip ritual and the lady seems to think there's a decent chance we get burnt there too. Solid.
Oh but it gets better. We're robbing a Tormentor. You know one of those ultra secret ultra deadly Gestapoesque secret agent murdery bastards that you really really hoped didn't actually exist. So that's great. I don't see a way out of this without killing. The fact that the thing is called a Tormentor makes this easier, but they're still a person. And if the whisper in the back of my mind bears any weight it could be worse.
I'll do what I can to keep bloodshed under control but there's a child that could be saved from the clutches of this empire, and a greater danger hovering in the back of our minds. We need answers and we need resources to get those answers. I've never been one for taking action for the "greater good" but the whole point of the twilight is to recognize there isn't just light and dark and the world and there is truth to be found where the two blend.
Farantur doesn't know what it is he wants us steal just that its obviously magical and stolen from the Fraxians. A Justicar is in pursuit, and while he denies being that Justicar it seems likely he is a contact, and powerful friend's open doors. It's always been good to have friends and contacts.
