Fumanteurs and Tormeteurs
Well, it has been a long stretch since I wrote last but best to get it all down. The chaos around our party continues! Every time it seems like I get to grips with our companions the ground seems to give out under my feet, these humans are definitely as flighty as elves, even moreso. We want to track down a child and rescue, but stop for every one who can offer us funds or a distraction. A gentleman named Fumantur showed up and offered us cash to steal something from the very templars who have absconded with the child we are tracking. We may even have friends in Fracia and a group called tormenteurs. Regardless we set off to steal something of unknown origin and power following thieves through a sewer when we knew betrayal was in the wind. Just walking up to a door and asking or forcing entry seems not to be encouraged by this group, indeed the more confusing we can make something the better it seems. I perhaps too enthusiastically joined in the deception suggested by the humans by pushing Hetz into the water so as to gain their allegiance. I did go in and save him as well, I really did think all humans could swim!
It was once we were in the house that things got even weirder. Despite professing to wanting to save children from the templars, we then locked innocent servants in a room and prepare to set them on fire in order to hide/mask our presence from templars? It was all very confusing as we were able to dispatch our enemies with our usual ease-- despite confusion in intents and purposes, we are scarily good at killing and defeating those around us. Indeed our skills working together in battle are oddly complementary considering our variety of approaches towards everything else!
We of course retrieved the item and then were approached with the idea of going to Anerith under dubious purpose again. Some ill smelling lion man agreed to take us to Anerith quickly which I agreed to so we could apprehend the elusive templar as we lost days messing around grabbing this item, but in return he wants us to place a "listening device". Dwarves are no strangers to blowing up caves and something definitely seems off in the request. We agreed and travelled through a tree carrying the new mystery item to get to Anerith. Who knew one could travel through trees, wonders never cease.
Not sure what distractions we will find in Anerith, but will definitely be taking the time to prepare and catch the very grumpy, Marshal Lumaris. I fully intend on freeing the child but am somewhat unsure what we should then do with either the child or the Marshal. Questions for the future, will pray to blessed Avandra for guidance.
