Personal history
Long has history forgotten the name Norkazz. Once a proud family of heroes, time has not been kind to the Norkazz family. Vixt was not always one of Desna's faithful, oh no. He started life in poverty; his family nothing more than a miner and a farmer.
The youngest of five siblings, he worked from an early age. His mother and father were both content with their lot in life; past glories forgotten. His four other siblings however chose to chase adventure, and one by one they died on the quest to reclaim the ancestral fame that once was held by the family.
Which just left Vixt, ever loyal, working to support his grieving mother and aging father. He gained a liking for strong ales and droughts, such was his choice after another day toiling in the field or mine with either of his parents.
All that remained of the family legacy was a Greataxe, said to have been used by the heroic grandfather of old in some great quest against an ancient evil. Strangely enough, this weapon had gone out with the siblings one by one and yet returned home on its own, carried by messenger or party member to tell the sorry tale of the owners demise.
'Aleheart' as he was known to many gained a reputation for drinking excessively and doing increasingly stupid and foolish things. It was during one such night of drinking at the local tavern he met Enna, a young aspiring adventuring elven woman and the last one to bring back the ill-fated family Greataxe after the fourth brothers demise.
An unusual friendship was struck; Enna would visit to tell Vixt tales and Vixt would listen and get drunk. It was a comfortable partnership and though he was loathe to admit it Vixt would come to enjoy her company and tales of assorted adventures.
Eventually, tragedy struck once more and while visiting his father in the mine to bring them lunch his mother and father were both killed in a cave-in. Distraught, Vixt got extremely drunk and Enna dared him to come with her on a single adventure.
Vixt accepted. He took the family Greataxe and stole Enna's horse, riding off to another town for an adventure of his own and leaving Enna to pay a rather hefty tab.
Fate is a cruel Mistress, and as such it was that Vixt would find the next city on lockdown and a detatchment of Paladins on the outskirts. They stated only those in service to Desna may enter the city at this time as they had been charged with the citys safety by the lord.
So, the drunken dwarf challenged the Knight-Commander of the Paladins (Who are all of the Knights of the Dreaming Star, a renowned militant order of Desnan Paladins and Warpriests) to a duel, so he can join the order and then enter the city to find a tavern.
In the drunken duel that followed, Vixt bludgeoned the knight-commander on a 'first blood' battle, knocking him out with the greataxe's flat side. Then he collapsed on top of him and passed out.
When he awoke, he found himself granted 'honary captaincy' in the order and being carried by the Commander and scouting team to a local village wherein they were searching for the truth to reports of horrible dreams and vicious monsters in the night.
Vixt, being a dwarf who was brought up right by his parents, honored the drunken oaths and accompanied them on the mission. He did however explain that as he was drunk and did not remember taking said oaths, he should be excused afterwards.
In the battle that followed, Vixt lost his weapon but called out to Desna for aid, holding a bottle of whiskey. Desna answered, and the dwarf proceeed to burn the werewolf with the now holy-whiskey and bash the creatures skull in with the paladin-captain's shield.
At this point, Enna, who had been trailing the drunken dwarf, arrived and attacked the werewolf with several spells to get its attention. She fired a fireball at the werewolf, causing it to flinch. At that moment, Vixt took the last of the whiskey and spat it onto the creature causing it to ignite with holy flames when the fireball hit.
Little remained.
Of the Paladins who went out to scout, none had survived and Vixt felt obligated to perform the last rites over the bodies. He took one of the paladin's prayer books and used that to do so, consecrating them before the two carried the bodies into a cart and then headed back to the city.
At the city, Vixt was held captive and investigated while the High Cleric sought out the truth of the matter. When the investigation concluded, Vixt was officially made a full-cleric of Desna and a Warpriest of her Dream-Knights.
Since then, Vixt has started to travel wide and far to give aid to those in need and teach the ways of Desna. His eyes hold a spark that was missing before, and to that he owes Desna.
