Red Dragonborn Paladin who worships Torm. He carries around a book of the words of Torm. He uses rituals from the book to protect the soul of the dead, guiding it to the afterlife and away from the grasp of the Necroking.

Description

 
Slazris is wearing a battered set of ringmail armor. It's been polished and cleaned and well kept. Even then it takes on a patchwork feel due to the numerous blotches of replaced rings from various battles in his post.
 
His Steel Buckler is strapped to his back. At his hip is his shortsword in its scabbard and beside it his belt knife rests in its sheath. He has another knife on the other hip as well as a dagger in a sheath built into his boot.
 
His blood red scales look well cleaned from a recent bath and shine from scale polish that he applies daily. He has a few facial scars and a gold ring on one of his chin horns that has Dwarvish writings etched into it. It's his ring of bond to his dead Husband Mason whose soul has been sent to the protection of Torm to await ressurection.
 

Traits and Motivations

Slazris is a devout religious Dragonborn man who is well trained at defending others and fighting the undead. He began his travels as a wagon guard before adventuring with Orin and his crew. He can be very particular about his religious practices. He wants to save all the souls of his friends so they can rejoin some day once the Cullings have stopped.
 
Slazris worships a specific sect of Torm that has adapted a resurrection prayer as a defence against the Necroking’s harvesting of Souls. They perform this specialized ritual using the Prayer song from the Book of Torm, Candles, Incense, and the body of the deceased. Once completed the soul of the dead moves on keeping it out of reach of the Necrokings minions. Someone can now be Ressurected Normally without fear of their soul being stolen.
 
Slazris hopes to be able to afford the Resurrection of his Husband Mason off of the plunder they find in the Forge of the Sea.
