He's slim and has average strength. He is able to run a good distance without getting tired but isn't a fast runner. Agile and acrobatic enough to climb many things, but far from proficient.

Personal history

Growing up he lived a pretty decent life. His parents were able to afford a good education for him, he was well fed, and lived in a safe area of Emerald. He learned archery and basic spells, and even did rather well learning about medicinal herbs. He joined a few hunting trips as an apprentice hunter. He didn't mind the work, but it didn't do much for him. He tried out several jobs in his late teens, never really finding something he wanted to do. Hunting was fine unless they were hunting anything larger than birds. Construction was fine until he had to work up high. Library scribe work was boring and tedious. Town guards deal with too much and are over extended. One day, while dealing with job hunting, he decided to cut through an alley to head to a park for a break. In that alley, he met someone offering him a unique opportunity: "Join the Candelas. It's safe, fun, and you'll earn more than those jobs out there can get you." Josh thought about the impending new year, his upcoming 21st birthday, and his desire to get a place of his own. He shook the figure's hand and said "I'm in."

Morality & Philosophy

While he has a pretty loose sense of morality, and is still very much in search of who he is as a person, he generally tries to do good things. Becoming an assassin was more a means to an end. He justified joining the Candelas because 1) who else would hire such an unskilled assassin and 2) if its starting fires, you don't have to directly watch someone die and if you succeed, you may be at fault but didn't directly kill them. He would come to realize that justification was weak, but was enough to get him in the job.
