Session 18: Eldritch Dreams Report
General Summary
The Chapter of Gold primarily attended to personal matters in Rainsmarket and Corvis. After completing their off week, Asra and Bartok headed to Merywyn, the capital of Llael and base of operations for House de Niclaeys. Leaving a note at Poor Lary's for Caitlin , Deacon Glaas, and Sy to meet them there.
In the city, they put a crude and rude bartender from The Mug and Pigeon in his place before getting rooms at The Overweight Jackal and learning of nightmares taking over the city. Taking time to explore the city, they met with three mages from The Order of Wizardry tasked with restoring the knowledge lost in Merywyn's famous lodge. Every adventurer they have sent in has failed to return, and they have offered payment in return for anyone who can secure the underground ruins.
Bartok
- Met with a magical researcher in Rainsmarket. Together they used powerful magic to spy on the recently killed Iron Lich. During the scrying Bartok learned that the Iron Lich, Zachar the Reaper, is operating out of the Moon Arch in Ios. Further, Bartok overhears a conversation between Zachar, Shanta, and Zara l’Alarie which discussed his failure in the Tomb of Lost Souls. Zachar promised it worked out better than one would expect, as he has found a willing scion.
- During the call Zachar the Reaper also mentioned the activities of Vora Durst, from The Jade Rats, and Goreshade the legendary betrayer and owner of Winter's Kiss, the former blade of the God Nyssor. Bartok also saw Finch Sunbright being slowly drained of his life force.
- Bartok met with Kami in Corvis, and ensured she has received the gifts promised by The Curator. Together they discussed expanded her business and brining Steelwater Flats onto the official circuit.
Asra
- Asra went to the small Iosan refuge in Steelwater Flats. Gathering supplies for her ritual, she reunited with her lost mother. Giving her a final goodbye, Asra collected the ritual materials and left her mother behind.
- In Corvis, Asra helped Larry Baker repair the main room and stage. After each event something horrific and other worldly came forth.
- Taking time to research the chanted name Lladd Ye’oth, discovering that it belongs to an infernal being which dwarfs The Curator.
Caitlin
- Traveling through Corvis, Caitlin headed to the tribal home of her clam in the Glimmerwood and placed the black seed given to her by The Curator.
- In planting the seed, the constructs returned to life with a new crimson glow. Caitlin found herself sensing the pain of the forest and connected it to a body of water.
- Heading alone to a nearby lake to investigate, she met Callis Ellith.
- Reaching the lake, she was hunted by a tribe of Gatormen. Making a final stand with Callis Ellith, they both died leaving the forest ablaze.
