Session Five: Ancient Lunar Magic Report

General Summary

After leaving Witchwood. the Pastoria Pals traveled for a few hours into the Emerald Forest further. They came upon a celebration which Daretti was able to recognize as the Ancient Lunar Festival which celebrates Lucia, The Arcane Light. Lucia is the goddess of magic, knowledge, the moon and the elements.   Each member of the party found some way to busy themselves at the festival. Elaria Vizard played a carnival game and earned a Cheap Wand of Firebolt. Erastus Chloros , still sullen from the events at Witchwood, stuffed himself with fair food. Daretti Da Vinky found himself at home among the crafters booths. All the while, Armitage was experiencing some pretty odd physio-magical symptoms, likely due to his connection with the powerful spellbook he has attuned to: The Primal Tome of Arcane Light.   After being subjected to more blatant racism from the folks at the Nikidik Inc, Malth Nurn decided to see if there was anyway he could help out with the festival. After asking around he found out that the person running the show was a half-elf by the name of Zall Kondeta. Zall gave Malth some labor to do for a dance performance that was going to be happening later that evening. Noticing that Zall looked stressed, the rest of the party asked Zall what was wrong. Zall explained that one of the dancers, Carmichael, was missing and it wasn't like him. Zall asked the party to talk to Valentin the Seer to see if she knew where Carmichael might be.   After Malth finished up his work the group made their way to the Seer's booth. They discovered that Valentin was, in fact, a grey cat. Valentin seemed to have knowledge of each of Pals' lives, both past present and future.  

Valentin's Insight

 

• She referred to Armitage as the messenger, because he was in possession of the Primal Tome of Arcane Light
• She commented on the "make" of Malth's soul, and expressed interest in figuring out who his soulmate is
• She seemed to know much about the nature of Elaria's past, and implied a great potential for the future
• She told Daretti to beware the "sins of the father"
• She told Erastus that his greatest lesson would not come from Monlo, but from a place he least expects

  After this strange encounter, she informed the party that they would find the "Earth Child" to the south, near water. When Malth pointed due south they found a dunktank with a shack behind it. Elaria was able to sneak behind the shack and discover that a disgusting looking hag had kidnapped Carmichael. In an ingenious move, Malth poured water on the woman (Christine) operating the dunk tank, exposing her true nature.    The party defeated the Hag inside the shack and saved Carmichael, but Christine was nowhere to be found. Carmichael was in no condition to perform, so Elaria took his place in the Dance of the Elements.
