Personal history

Erastus was born into the Chloros Pride of Mizbasha’s. He was born in the Valley of Moss, a warm tropical grassland. His Pride took the name Chloros (which means green) on account of the area they inhabited has unusually higher rainfall compared to the rest of the region which results in a greener area. He grew up a happy child with loving parents and was also considered a son of the whole pride. Throughout his life Erastus always had this peculiar thing happen right after he woke up. In that short twilight transition from sleep to waking he always heard this faint rhythmic rumbling that he chalked up to dreaming. That is until he learned of Monlo. When Erastus was 12 his pride was attacked my marauders, he got separated from his family and did the only thing he could do, run. He ran and ran for 16 hours until he collapsed. The pads of his paws were worn down bleeding, his ankle twisted, dehydrated, famished and falling in and out of consciousness he was found and nursed back to health by a female Nomad Elf in shining large plate armor named Tialha Addan. She took him under her wing, taught him about Monlo and the world outside the Valley of Moss. She also taught him how to focus on those rhythmic rumblings for she knew what those were. She brought him back to the city of Katlin where he learned about helping others in need, caring for the sick, standing up for the downtrodden. After a few years Tialha was apprehended because a loyal enforcer of Comrade Drusilla became aware of her magic and brought her to a gulag.Upon seeing this, Erastus for the first time hears clearly and loudly the blasting drums of Monlo. Erastus made a plan to rescue Tialha but it failed and in the ensuing chaos she was killed. Erastus got away again but not before helping other prisoners escape. Since that day he has sworn to uphold the laws of Monlo, enacting justice on the wicked. Enacting righteous bloodshed in pursuit of vengeance for the evils on Pastoria. He has spent years now working as apart of an underground railroad helping refugees to flee Katlin. That is where he met Elaria Vissard, a shade elf trying to escape Katlin. He went with her and a group of refugees as protection till they could reach where the Shifting Sands touched the sea. While traveling across that desert, Erastus was walking close to a planar sinkhole when it opened up and an unimaginable, indescribable elder horror reached its slimy, scaly, slippery appendage through and took hold of him, slowly dragging him into the sinkhole. Not before Elaria ran to him, firing off multiple arrows into the foul beast. Erastus was dropped and the sickening tentacle was pulled back through the sinkhole that abruptly closed again. While Elaria did not think much of Erastus’ rescue because she honestly wasn’t sure she actually did cause the thing to drop him or if that was its own action. Erastus was so filled with honor and thankfulness for being saved that right then and there he dropped to a knee and swore a life oath to Elaria. Vowing to be her sword and shield. Elaria is not used to having someone she can count on and especially someone devoted to her safety but she goes along with Erastus’ oath simply because he is a good man. Waiting for them was a boat to bring the refugees to the port town of Notero, they board the ship and begin their adventure.

Oh Well...
Seventh Day of Shine, In The Year 1356 ALD

I'm writing this in the early morning before the rest of my companions have awoken for i had no time last night. I don't even know where to begin. I've seen things that whoever reading this would be hard-pressed to believe. I will try to detail it well, maybe for my own sake. We arrived at the Karno compound on the sixth of shine. This compound is a growing farmstead of around 300 avian, gnomes, and even halve avian-gnomes! We met a rather simple avian who told us of the well we were looking for. Its a well the compound relies on as one of a few water sources, its apparently been here much longer than the compound. We entered the compound and met with the elder of the place, an old avian who was very gracious and generous. She told us of the wizard that entered the well and how since then nothing has left. She promised a big feast should we return. We made haste then straight to the well and entered it easily for there was a ladder built into the stone. As we reached the bottom Armitage lit one of his 30 torches and we saw a tunnel that veers off from the well and we followed it. It looked like a natural cave until we came to two doors.   I must preface this with everything written here is the truth.I swear on my life, i swear as a true follower of Monlo.   We Entered on the Right and we found 3 corpses of curious creatures. None any of us had seen before, except for Derretti who recognized the creatures as Kobolds from his world. They looked to of been there for a while because they had mummified. We found a secret door that led us into the left room where we were greeted with a sign congratulating us for entering the left door. While we stood dumfounded looking at the sign i experienced one of my worst fears. A disgusting brown and orange slime fell from the ceiling onto ELARIA and took her down to the floor immediatly. I bashed it off of her with my shield and the slime was quickly delt with. Derretti healed her luckily because she was very very close to dying from that horrid creature. Just thinking about that moment fills me with fear for i have sworn to protect Lady Elaria. After shaking that incident off we opened the door further ahead and came to a sight that defies explanation. There in that room was 9 skeletons playing a game of curling.   there i said it   thats literally what was happening. I stood in stunned silence while the rest of the party cheered with the skeletons but Deretti slowly closed the door again. No one trusted a group of 9 skeletons so we headed through the door on the right side of the dungeon and saw a table. once we entered, the door behind us disappeared leaving just a blank wall. Then magically appearing on the table were 5 plates with various meals on them, enough for each of us. Apparently everyones favorite foods except mine. Elaria was willing to taste her "salt soup" but i could not risk it. I volunteered to take a bite of the plate that was apparently mine, spiced goat. I bit into it and it was nothing special, kinda bland. the door ahead opened and we continued on past that uneventful room.   The final room   We found a chest and a spellbook. Elaria and Deretti worked together to unlock the chest and inside they found a beautiful belt. which turned out to be a belt of teleportation belonging to the Oz family. Then Armitage opened the spellbook with haste and was cruelly clawed by monsterous arms that reached out of the book. They withdrew back into the book and out popped a wizard. Wham.   He's kind of a dick.   He wrote that sign. And apparently taught those skeletons games to play in order to allow safe passage and he trapped the Devourer in that spellbook but unfortunately was trapped in there with it for 20 years until Armitage opened it. He had no idea that time passed and although he was suprised to hear that Ozma and Dorothy were dead, he changed into a Zoot suit and disappeared.   He's a Dick.   We went back to the compound where we were greeted with a wondrous feast. We shared tales, ate good food, and made new friends.   A member of the compound asked Deretti if he could help them figure out a way to bring more water to the for their crops. Unfortunately they only had two options and neither were easy. They could either pay for a pump that would cost 3000 gold or they move the compound next to a better water source up north. They were understandably saddened to learn of their choices, i tried cheering them up and gave them their first donation of 15 gold.   Deretti and I promised to come back and help them.   And with that we slept with ideas of what our future brings

The First Step
Sixth Day of Shine, in the year 1356 ALD

After arriving in Notero a week ago on the refugee ship. Alaria and I rested, and I told many tales about the world and old heroes for Alaria does not know much but is very hungry for knowledge. We met with a human wizard named Armitage about an adventurers needed ad Alaria saw. We met him along with a Goblin Artificer by the name Deretti and a Construct Ranger named Malth who also answered the ad.Armitage told us of a undead beast called the Devourer he wanted to find and document for his book he is writing. He produced a map that no one has seen that leads to the lair of this foul beast. After talking with some locals we found out that this lair could be at the bottom of a ancient well by an avian compound. This compound lies maybe a few days trek from Notero. So after a nights sleep at the local inn we headed off. I must say I had another bad sleep. The bad visions are back. This one showed me burning city’s, fire, the moon. That’s all I can remember. I can’t share these visions yet until I know more. We headed off on our trek and that same day we came across a pond which would of been unremarkable except for the pond had a gross layer of jelly film on top of the water. Armitage went to work trying to sense the magic of this pond, I meanwhile kept a lookout. I got a tingling sensation of being watched, but could not discern from where. I used my Monlo given power of divine sense to try and sense what I could not see. I immediately sensed evil undead from the pond so I told everyone to back away. Then crawling out of the muck were two slimy, stinking ghouls. We made quick work of the two but not before one slashed its sharp rotten fingers across my chest. Luckily Deretti had a fix for that and hit me with a magic healing wrench, it was admittedly funny. But nonetheless useful. While the zombies were dead the muck was still there. We discerned that the muck turned the pond into a undead birthing pit so we had to destroy it. Deretti and Armitage having much knowledge in magic fired flaming bolts into the much. The stench was gut churning, but after the flames died down the slimy film was no more. I’m very happy we got rid of that blighted pit but it does raise questions as to its origin. Why was it there? What made it? With these questions in mind we will continue our trek, with even more watchful eyes. Monlo watch over me
