18. More time in the secret hospital Report

General Summary

14th of Eyre, 998 YK

• Following on from 17. Answers but for real maybe Report, they discussed what to do and where to go next.
• The party split in two, Terfel Glas, Dax' Athla and Llyr Glas went to guard the entrance to the facility.
• They went through a decontamination chamber, which made Terfel's crawling gauntlet ache and throb.
• On the other side, they encountered Daine, Lei d'Cannith and Pierce.
• Warden and Kalshana went down to the library. Lei went down to join them.
• They learnt all of the information contained in the Daelkyr and Symbionts articles.
• Daine and Dax talk for a bit, Daine spitballs that there were 3 missing people and there are 3 brain monsters in the other room. He is disappointed that they didn't find Jode's mark.
• Terfel goes and explores the dorms, takes a bath
• Kalshana, Lei and Warden find a weird book in a language none of them can read. It gives them headaches when they try.
• Warden put the weird book in his bag.
• The three of them explored the Orrery, and Lei commented that one of the moons doesn't exist. She turned the crank to get to it, and when Eyre was ascendant it opened a door. Lei didn't go through, but Kalshana and Warden did.
• Through the door was a portal to somewhere else, and on the other side of it, an entity that Warden perceived as a Warforged, and Kalshana as a Kalashtar.
• This matches what they have learnt of how the Daelkyr are perceived. It speaks to them, and they respond by blacking out and screaming.
• The daelkyr reaches through the portal and impossibly, grips the edges of the portal with it's hands and closes it.
• They retreat in a panic, Kalshana losing it a bit. They flee up the stairs and a discussion ensues about how to proceed.
• Warden wants to leave, and destroy this place. There is some discussion of taking more books.
• They also need to address the Grell in the Symbiont Chamber, as well as the two unbonded Symbionts in there. They send Terfel away so they can talk without his symbiont listening.
• They decide they are going to kill the other symbionts, and to tell Terfel up front to see how he reacts.
• While discussing this, Terfel screams. Pierce cut his arm off!
• They murder the symbiont, and staunch the bleeding.
• They go and kill the other symbionts and the Grell. They obliterate it tbh.
• They destroy the VATS
• They go back to the library, with a chest taken from the bathroom, and take all of the books. 50 in total.
• They go back to the Orrery as a group and discuss what to do with it.
• Terfel works out that the smaller orrery is to attune the device to a specific daelkyr. The daelkyr they encountered was Dyrrn, the Corruptor.
• They decide, rather than just destroying it and depriving the world of a unique artifact, to dismantle it and have Lei document it so that it can be reproduced.
• Lei takes it apart, sending Terfel, Llyr, Kalshana and Olalia to get her equipment. She uses her equipment to summon her homunculus, a porcelain version of herself.
• Lei achieves an understanding of how it works, and knows that she's incapable of the magic required to reproduce it.
