The Forgotten God Campaign

A Dungeons & Dragons 5e game In the world of The Forgotten God Campaign
March 1st, 2019 | Full
In "The Forgotten God" you play an Adventurer - be it a seasoned veteran of the trade, a wide-eyed rookie aspiring to greatness or schlubs just looking for a paycheck. You're entering a world after it's faced an inconceivable calamity - and not by the intervention of gods, but by the actions of a heroic few, the world was saved. The legacy of these brave mortal souls has made adventuring sig business! Accomplished adventurers are treated as celebrities and live lavish, high-profile lives. Great stadiums are built where masses gather to watch adventurers compete in games of skill and strategy, and to be awed by spectacular re-enactments of the greatest stories.   The campaign's main themes are serious and dramatic in nature but presented with light mood. There's an emphasis on role-playing and exploration, with plenty of opportunity for action. You will meet many colorful characters along the way - whether they are friends or foes, is up to you.

Session 02 - "The Power of Silence"

No sooner than a day out of Boggindor, the party have sailed upon a sight of a young, shackled Boggard woman in prison garb being chased by a group of magical ninjas come asylum orderlies from the Silent Order Penitentiary of Dryfoot Hill.   Having encountered a patrol barge of the Silent Order a few days ago, the Adventurers were warned about a dangerous sorceress with uncontrollable and volatile magical powers, Libby Widdershin, whom the members of the Order were quite eagerly pursuing.   Putting two and two together, the party have made the only logical conclusion - the prisoner Boggard was Libby and the impossibly skilled magical ninjas were clearly of the villainous variety.   Their minds firmly set on acquiring a new and powerful adversary, the Adventurers bravely placed themselves in harm's way and, by the grace of the many assorted Young Gods, managed to rescue the runaway Boggard by engaging in murdering her pursuers until they died from it.   Fresh blood righteously spilled, the group backtracked to Boggindor in order to return young Libby Widdershin to the loving care of her unquestionably honest uncle, Bort.   Having gifted the runaway Boggard girl's family with enough gold to secure them a year's worth of gracious living, the party finally set off for the shores of Dryfoot City.

Game 01 - "The Bobbing Beauty"

After a short onboarding seminar and an extremely justified rifling through their new employer's private belongings, the journey to the city of Dryfoot Hill in search of whatever it is that Professor Brumblebottom needed a party of well-armed Heroes for, has begun!   Almost immediately (or approximately a day and a half later) the adventurers have encountered and briefly disposed of the Highwaymen Union's Welcoming Committee.   Shortly thereafter, they have stopped to resupply in the picturesque Boggiondor -- a city of many smells -- where they have made quite a name for themselves by triumphantly defeating the Village Jerk in a cutthroat duel of swift skill, deadly cunning, and haute cuisine!

From the Journal of Saffron Rothschild:

"Hello and Welcome to the adventure of The Forgotten God, A 5th edition D&D Campaign   I am Saffron Rothschild. Here’s a bit of what happened as our adventure began:   My fellow travelers include Captain M’love. He is a Half-Elf, Half Human fellow, as brave as he is lovely.   Rain Seaspray, the Sea Elf, performer, and sorceress— with power over water, and a very sweet voice   Francis Farley (we call him “PawPaw”) is a Boggard from Twobridge who plays an interesting instrument the locals call “the devil’s lute”. it does have an interesting sound, I must say.   Twig “Firefly” Mossfut a Junior Spire Scout… always ready with a helping hand or a ready pan. He’s capable with many things but oh my! What a cook!   We met at the dock in Twobridge. You see, A Professor Brumblebottom had captured our attention with a flyer looking for adventurers- And so we like-minded travelers boarded Professor B’s boat, the Bobbing Beauty, and began our journey to the town of Dryfoot.   We enjoyed a bit of blissful time to get to know one another and it quickly became apparent that we worked well together when we were beset by a gang of Boggard pirates. We dispatched them in short order and were happy to make a landing at Boggindor to replenish our supplies.   Our Twig is from Boggindor and we met up with some of his family while in town. Twig also made friends with lovely Girl, Lavender, in the local tavern.   There was one snag— a brutish fellow blocked our way and insisted on a duel. No amount of diplomacy would sway the fellow, so — duel it was! Since this took the form of a cook-off it meant our champion would be Twig, of course! — and he naturally prevailed.   We are back on the Bobbing Beauty, ready to begin the last leg of our rather soggy trip to the city of Dryfoot!"
