Trolled in the temple Report

General Summary

Mehmen Ashid and his over-eager exploration of the jungle temple awakened the temple's guardian, a troll skeleton covered in vines. It seemed to be the only guardian the temple possessed and was reasonably easily overcome by the heroes, using flaming spheres to nullify its regenerative ability.    With the skeleton dispatched the Five Fingers were able to enter the only enclosed area of the temple, thanks to some nifty work on the temple door from Marble. Inside they found some treasure and a burnt area that could have been the heart of the temple guardian outside. The clue lay in the fact the ash was still smoldering.   With nothing further to be found the party tentatively approached the village they had identified earlier within the The Hidden Valley. On its outskirts they were intercepted by a strange, short, plant-like humanoid. Unable to understand the series of clicks and gurgles that constituted its language the party relied on Thomas Marchant and his magic to interpret. It seemed the locals had very little time for the party. And when other members of the village arrived the locals became more frustrated by the party's inability to communicate clearly, presuming they were just stupid.    This was further confirmed when the party asked for the location of the geode they sought. The locals were able to indicate that it was over the river but that was a dangerous place. They couldn't understand why the Five Fingers would want to go there. But that was, indeed, where they headed.
