Session VIII: Return Report

General Summary

The party (Erias, Skylar, and Theiran) awakens in the streets of Falconspire and quickly gets brought back together in the form of the Empress' courtroom where the party meets Circe and Lelenia.   The Empress tasks the party with enlisting the help of a group of mercenaries to help deal with the business of the cult so the party makes way for Stroth, home of the Avis outpost, where the party meets and is joined by Bergess, Birak, Brynn, and Uthemar.   They meet Teylan Dannis, proprieter and owner of the local Avis Wayhouse whom signs them up for the local bounty board system under the name the Affinity Comets.   The Party takes several bounties.   After taking the bounties, several members the group discover that they share a common birthmark resembling the shape of a falling star or comet.   The party bunks down for the night but Brynn receives a mysterious message under her door the next morning reading, 'Good luck tomorrow! You're going to need it~'.   The Party makes way for the Elusian forest and arrives to discover Umber Oakenstone caressing a great Etheroak. He warns the party of a "mortal danger to the forest and that which resides within; even now Galgalesh lies trapped and injured."   The party makes haste to the old ruins and finds the Bloody Barons beating Galgalesh to death's door and proceed to squash the menace. Galgalesh then tasks the group with retrieving a fruit from the great mother tree so that she may eat from it and sustain and replenish herself.   The party decides to split up, leaving Uthemar, Brynn, Circe, and Bergess behind to guard Galgalesh in her weakened state.   The party proceeds through the Elven encampment to which Lelenia translates from the chief that the Dragon, Pelor flew away some two years ago for some unapparent reason.   While investigating the stone structure the great mother tree Arwen'el sits atop of, Birak notices strange lines and indentations in the stonework, clearly a door of some kind that was once hidden by the dragons tail.   Lelenia touches the door and gains a vision in the form of Sol'Revan (the Long Walk). Lelenia casts Knock on the door and it opened magically. The party began to descend.   Descending into the darkness with only a torch and a lighted sword to brandish the way you finally realized it to be some kind of resting place for the elven dead. Upon reaching the end you were confronted by a Mind Flayer calling himself Drossix. He informed your party that he seeks something that fell many miles from here and that he wishes to return home to find his beloved among the stars.   Upon leaving a 9th level Geas spell was cast upon Lelenia that she would return to this place in 100 years.   The party then returns to the old ruins encampment and meets back up for a rest.   Galgalesh then gives them access to the fallen star that they had missed years earlier. It emanates all 8 schools of magic and is shaped like a blazing comet.
