Falconspire

The homeland and last bastion of the High-elves that live there, Falconspire is revered as the capital city of the Eldar Imperium.

Demographics

While it holds true that most citizens of 'true' Falconspire are full blooded- hailing from long standing Elven family lines such as House Vizorri and House Sindal, the majority of the lower class are half-elves living in shanty towns on the Great Expanse and the outskirts of the Citadel's gold-gilt walls.

Government

Falconspire is ruled over by an Empress; the honor of which has been passed down through the ages by way of lineage. Under rule of the Empress is the High Court, which consists of thirteen members. Each of these members is responsible for upholding and creating the laws by which Falconspire is governed, and all laws put into effect by the Court must then be approved by the Empress, and vice-versa.

Falconspire's Empress' of the Old Imperium once held indisputable power, but as the ages wore on, the High Court began fighting for more political independence; and in doing so, became a force to be reckoned with. This led to a number of high profile cases in which the High Court managed to put laws in place that protected their status from disbarment and allowed them to make laws on par with the Empress' of the Second Age.

This inevitably led to the creation of the position of Officiate, whose role was to act as a sort of 'mediator' between the seat of Empress, and the High Court. This has resulted in a trifecta of power to develop over millennia within Falconspire's walls; each branch playing its own role in the reigning government of Falconspire.

Infrastructure

One of the wonders of the world is the Great Expanse, a vast golden bridge that spans a length of three days, and bears much of the weight of the half-elf population of Falconspire.

Guilds and Factions

While Falconspire doesn't necessarily hold any guilds or factions of notable worth, there is always a steady supply of new emissaries joining the ranks of the Imperium in service to the High Court and Empress.

History

Falconspire has a long and turbulent past, beginning with the fall of the First Imperium. It is chronicled that at some point during the First Age, centuries of war brought the Eldar Imperium low, and the forces of the Eldar at war among themselves, completely destroyed the First Imperium as we know it. Though the elves managed to rebuild their citadels, they were now many thousands of miles from 'home'; thus began the Second Age of the Eldar Imperium, which fell sometime around the year -22550 of 2E.

Tourism

While many make the journey to see the great gleaming, golden, city-castle of Falconspire, the majority of these tourists are turned away at the Perch; a militarized outpost on the far reaches of the Great Expanse. Two great golden wings spread wide, denoting the long walk into the Eldar Imperium; and, under orders of the last Empress, Di'Vinia I, an Avis outpost was allowed sanction within the Perch, enabling new trade routes to establish themselves on the outskirts of Falconspire. Many nobles have argued that the previous Empress' forward thinking ways have thrown the Eldar Imperium into political disarray.

Geography

Falconspire holds a defensible position deep within a waterfall basin. Ringed by the immense pressure of the falls on each side, the city has been protected for generations by a sort of 'barrier'. Overlooking Falconspire is Arwen'el, the Great Mother Tree; its red leaves pressed against the cerulean sky.
