Everybody Get Psycho Report

General Summary

The very first Mystery started off with our Hunters receiving a case report from the Knights of Pythias, a group of retired cops and emergency responders who are aware of the supernatural world. A strange murder case with supernatural signs came up, involving a high school student who murdered her family using a chainsaw, that had exhibited supernatural strength in the killings.   Kat Laramie used her contacts to convince the county medical examiner, Barry Gibbs , to let them inspect the victims' corpses at the morgue in exchange for future opera tickets. Amie Castwell used her gifts to communicate with the recently departed spirit of the killer's father, who was convinced he was killed by Leatherface of the film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.   Deciding to question students who may have known the killer, our Hunters ventured over to Warren Easton Senior High School . There they met Jess Strand & Vince Kethcum , two emo students newly transplanted to the city who were trying to fit in with the cooler kids at school. They heard this cool group liked to frequent the ruins of the Hardrock Hotel to smoke and listen to music, especially those cool tunes on the black disc they kept hearing about. In speaking with them, Amie learned that they believed the band playing that sweet Swedish deth metal was called Bazrael . Nathan Jones spoke with Leonard Kilminster , a history teacher at the school, who thought the killer was influenced by Bazrael, a name he had heard through student gossip which he believed was the name of a drug that made the killer student go crazy.   During this time, Kned the Cameraman Winchester found an email in his RDA inbox, something that had never ever happened to him before in all his years as a RDA cult lay member. It turns out that the email was sent to Chubbs Fondue , but Kned was blind carbon copied. The message read like a secret mission dossier, tasking Chubbs with tracking down actor Chad Michael Murray and "obtaining some fresh DNA". They mentioned he and the cast of the movie he was filming in Marigny were staying at a nearby hotel called The Provincial.   Kat was able to call upon her contact in Occult circles, Hamish Klausmeier , who informed her that Bazrael, despite being a badass band name, was, in fact, the name of a Demon Prince, otherwise known as the Lord of Carnage. Sensing bad news, the group left the vigil for Hill's Music , the place that Vince & Jess mentioned being the place where the killer apparently bought this black disc.   At Hill's Music, manager Reb Watson stated they had no idea where the disc came from, appearing as if out of nowhere. They were surprised it even existed until the student who would become killer brought the disc up to purchase it. Hitting a dead-end, the Hunters decided to chase the lead at the Hard Rock Hotel, in the hopes of running into star football player and cool kid Chad or another member of his cool kid group who knew something about this Bazrael music. As the group went to depart, they noticed that Nathan had already left the store...   At the Hard Rock ruins, the Hunters heard music blaring from the 4th floor, and decided to ascend the stairs. Kned got a live stream notification on his phone from Youtube that a video matched his search filters for weird stuff. The video began as a scene that looked like it was out of a film from the Saw series, complete with Jigsaw and an entire family inside of a cage, strapped to a playground roundabout connected to an automated shotgun. A box-like device was on the other side of the cage as the father of the family stumbled into the room. Jigsaw (whom the family members kept calling Chad, pleading with him to stop cosplaying and to let them out) explained to the Dad that he had to choose 2 of the trapped family members to survive, and would have to sacrifice his hand to save them, or else all would perish. Kned notified the group just as they arrived on the 4th floor of the hotel, and as Nathan descended from the 5th floor...   Nathan dialled Mr. Kilminster to let him know of the situation and ask if he could call the police and notify them of Chad's home address. Leonard agreed and added that he would rush over to Chad's home himself as well to help. Our Hunters headed for the source of the music wearing their noise suppression headphones, but could still hear the ominous, demonic metal music. They watched as Jess and Vince, who had gone to the hotel trying to be with the cool kids whilst the group visited the music store, transformed into Slashers of the Silver Screen at the end of the song. Jess transformed into Freddy Krueger ala A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Vince changed into Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th.   A smoky demon appeared to escape with the black disc (what Nathan referred to as The Disc Most Black , knowledge he says he gained from one of Maggie's former contacts), leaving the Hunters alone with these Silver Screen Slashers. A fight ensued, which resulted in Freddy apparently dead from massive injuries and Jason trapped hanging upside down, suspended in the air off the side of the building, and the building itself enchanted by Amie to trap the two inside. Amie tried to connect her mind to the demon that has vanished with the Disc, but only caught a glimpse of a blue locker before being shunted from its mind.   Deciding to head to the high school, Kned and Alex found a way into the school, through the gymnasium. With Kat and Amie's smarts, they figured out that the school colour-coded its lockers by grade, and soon found the locker the disc had been hidden inside. The guardian demon appeared again, but with the use of Amie's jinx was dispersed and allowed Alex to retrieve the disc. Heading back to the gym, Amie was able to cast a spell that broke the magic cast on the disc, but not before a last-minute stroke of bad luck threw a wrench into things. Darcy Healy , a reporter for the The New Orleans Advocate , someone the Hunters had questioned about the murders, had been snooping and was caught observing the Hunters casting the spell. Whether it was bad luck or something else, the last fragment of the disc's magic invaded Darcy, turning her into Carrie (from Carrie), and unleashed her on the Hunters. Her assault injured Kned, Alexander Bane , and Kat, and nearly killed Nathan, but she was dispatched quickly as the fading magic of the Disc Most Black, once dispersed, did not last long. Had the disc achieved its goal of creating 666 slayings, it would have summoned Bazrael to this world. Our Hunters definitely saved the day!!

Aftermath   Chad's Jigsaw game killed his sister, his brother, his mother, and his uncle. His father managed to spare his father's best friend and Chad's aunt. NOPD arrived at the scene to find Leonard Kilminster on the front lawn, sobbing over the corpse of Chad, who had just taken his own life. Police then entered the house to search for survivors. Unfortunately, Chad boobytrapped the entire house. Chad's father, his father's best friend, and two NOPD Officers who tried to help them escape were killed. Leonard was taken to Tulane Medical Center for medical care, and placed on a psychiatric hold after having a nervous breakdown in the hospital.   Vince Ketchum woke up upside down hanging from the fourth floor of the Hardrock Hotel. NOPD was called to the scene about noise complaints and reports of gunshots. Vince was brought in for questioning concerning the murder of his girlfriend Jess Strand, whose body was found brutally mutilated nearby in the hotel ruins. He claims he doesn't remember anything. He is being held without bail as the prime suspect in her murder.   Darcy Healy's body was found the next day inside the Warren Easton SHS gymnasium by the Phys Ed teacher, the victim of another brutal murder. There is no suspect at this time.
