The Battle For Amyntas

General Summary

After making sure everyone was alive and kind of well after the battle with the Roc, the party took the crystal and took it to the black cube. The Chimera was glad about its returns and for an added bonus it now glows as well as the 'veins' in the room. They rushed back to the ship through the cave, after saying goodbye to Qhikek and Master Kirr. There were some Aarakocra that expressed a willingness to become students in the way of air, so Master Kirr will be teaching once again.
Arriving at Cammara the hastily made their way to lord Sparklegem to tell him of the impending doom on Vaenor. Suiv, being a lord has access to the teleportation circles if needed. This situation is with ease the kind of situation for which this system is in place. They tell the crew to make their way to Avestaer while they go to Vaenor.
Arriving in a small room that leads to a calm hallway, they wonder whether they are already too late. Luckily, they aren't as they soon run into one of the servants who takes them to Lord and lady Darach immediately. After some discussion, they decide to include Amyntas, the unicorn, into the conversation and thus the people that are allowed to go to his grove, go there. Amyntas is also worried and he is not sure if they can beat Velsharoon. He says he would be willing to sacrifice himself to save the lives of those he guards and that Elora could temporarily take over a guardian. Being a guardian takes a lot of physical and magical power so they have to hurry and reawaken the tree of life from within. Amyntas has tried to cure the tainted tree but hasn't succeeded. He has, however, been able to halt the spreading of the sickness. He refers them to the one with knowledge of the necklaces, Kallian, to find out how.
Brandeth gets the clever idea to send a message to Velsharoon with the Sending spell. She asks what he wants and if they can help him. He answers saying he needs some Belladonna and to hand the unicorn over to him. They realize there's no way for them to fight Velsharoon and they decide to sacrifice Amyntas.
The next morning they head for Floriburg, which is now evacuated, and the silence hits them when they think back about the last time they were there during Greengrass. The mist flows into the bay and with it Velsharoon's black Man-'O-War. He appears behind them riding a Nightmare. They hand over the Belladonna and escort him to Myth Vaenor.
Lord and Lady Darach are waiting for them just outside the village. Velsharoon notices the archers in the trees and tells them how it was clever to not underestimate him. He asks where his unicorn is and Amyntas appears. Velharoon gets off his Nightmare and slowly walks towards Amyntas. He casts Power Word Stun so Amyntas holds still. He pulls outs a saw and starts sawing off Amyntas' horn. He moves his hands through Amyntas' golden mane and pets his neck and says how it is said to end the life of such a magnificent creature, but that it is a necessary sacrifice for his cause. he gets back on his Nightmare and without further ado teleports away.
A unicorn can't survive for long without his horn so they must hurry to the grove. Amyntas gathers Elora, Suiv, Brandeth and Esseria and teleports to the grove. Brandeth, Esseria, and Suiv try to keep Amyntas alive for as long as possible so he can transfer his magic to Elora. From his body, a golden spectral unicorn appears and leaps into Elora who's eyes start glowing before she passes out. Amyntas last words are "It has been a pleasure guarding these woods. Good luck and hurry".
A ritualistic cremation of Amyntas' body is performed that day and while the life in Floriburg returns, the Elves are in mourning.
