Cammara

A New Home

After the mines on Grimsthad ran dry, the Rock Gnomes looked for a new island rich of ether. They found a new home on Cammara, which has rich ether veins underneath its surface. The rocky terrain was also to the liking of the Rock Gnomes and they made burrows in the rocks that dot the landscape. At first they used illusion magic to hide their burrows from the harpies that inhabited the island, but the Rock Gnomes were able to drive them off. The harpies went north-east where they, apparently, found a new place to live.

Tinkering Society

The mines provide plenty of ether to craft whatever the Gnomes want, but they regulate it to run it dry too quickly. This makes Ether products of any kind expensive and only available to the king and sometimes the high-class people in Avestaer. On Cammara, though, many things have been enhanced with Ether crystals. Roads are guided by lampposts that provide bright blue lights, originating from the crystals, at night. The abundance of Ether, even on the surface, makes it possible to maintain the huge illusion that hides the true position of the island and the dangerous cliffs that keep unwelcome ships out. The Gnomes share all that they make and design with each other but can be protective and hesitant to do so with outsiders. They built big hangars to hold their bigger inventions and those that are to be shipped to Avestaer. Illusion magic makes them look like mountains or big rocks. All the hangars are protected by Stone Defenders, that guard them tirelessly. There's plenty of Magewrights to provide all kinds of services. It is not uncommon for a soldier or guard to be a Wandslinger and thus carry a wand along with their martial weapons.

Faith

There isn't a temple in the classic sense, however, The Crafthouse of Inspiration functions as a museum, a place on inspiration (hench the name) and a place of worship. It stores the most beautiful and crafty creations of the gnomes from years back and the biggest honor on Cammara is to have one of your original creations be displayed here. The temple is dedicated to Gond, Nebelun the meddler and Garl Glittergold. In the center is a big statue of Gond and Nebelun working back to back. Gond smashing on an anvil while Nebelun is being blasted by an invention on her workbench. They see Gond as the older and wiser brother figure and Nebelun as the young and talented, but impulsive and careless prodigy.
