Now that Arthur has made his way back to Lannora Ivy, the Swiftwind Mercenary Company, accompanied by Elspeth Swiftwind, are adventuring across Valeshire in the direction of the karsts, hoping to encounter some wildlife and learn more about the local area.
Having prevented the Essenmark Circle of Magi from being wiped out and rescued Elspeth from the Order of the Holy Flame, the Swiftwind Mercenary Company is split into two parts- the majority of the company, who are leaving Bellaerie for Lannora Ivy, and Silas Salvatore, who awaits them there alongside Elspeth, who has become quite captivated with him. Arthur and Margaret also await the party and Edward is on his way to Lannora Ivy as well; it seems a rather large reunion is due at the Swiftwind's ancestral manor.
A week has passed since the SMC arrived in the sprawling city of Bellaerie, allowing the adventurers to grow accustomed to the central areas of the city and the general mannerisms of its diverse people. One more week remains in Fiscus' first stint as the company's captain before Mira will take over in his stead; which leads will the party follow up next?
With only a few days of the party's stay at Lannora Ivy left, the party must wrap up their affairs at the manor and finish preparations for the road. This includes meeting with Arthur and Margaret to discuss the details of the Swiftwind Mercenary Company's financial and hierarchal arrangements. Who will be the first to serve as the company's Captain? Who will serve as their lieutenant?
The second half of your stay at Lannora Ivy introduces to you a new member of the Swiftwind Mercenary Company and allows you to continue investigating the mysteries you've already uncovered within the mansion. The time has almost come for you to receive what aid Arthur and Margaret have to offer you and embark on your journey to follow Arthur's trail around the developed world and make a name for yourselves and for your company. What discoveries await beyond the grounds of Lannora Ivy? How will Garou, Fiscus, Silas, Mira, and Red approach the open countryside of Essenmark and the capital city of Bellaerie?
Summoned by your friend and former adventuring buddy, Arthur Swiftwind, you arrive at Arthur's ancestral home. The sprawling estate spans many acres and contains beautiful grounds, lush gardens, a family cemetery, its own stables, kennel, and garage, and at its center stands the opulent, gothic mansion of Lannora Ivy. More casually known as Swiftwind Manor, Lannora Ivy was recently willed to Arthur along with the rest of his late father's estate. Your daring and good-spirited friend is settling down to a life among the aristocracy from which he came as Lord Arthur Swiftwind of Oaksleigh, and it is now that he has contacted you for assistance. The correspondence that was delivered directly into your hand via courier was written in beautiful calligraphy and sealed with rich violet wax stamped with a seal in the shape of the Swiftwind coat of arms- a swift soaring up toward the sun, its wings and tailfeathers trailed by seven stars, and crossed beneath the bird were a rapier and a scepter. The invitation read, "Hello again, old friend! How time has flown since we last met! Much has transpired in the time we have been apart, and I find myself both greatly endowed with resources and in need of the aid of a group of adventurers both capable and trustworthy. I count you among the most skillful and most worthy sellswords, explorers, and rangers in my acquaintance and therefore I implore you- come to Lannora Ivy, my home, in the Oaksleigh province of Essenmark and be my houseguest for a while. Here you will meet other comrades of mine from my travels, and when we have all assembled I shall propose to you the journey of a lifetime. In faith and friendship, Lord Arthur Swiftwind".
