What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

It's not so much unsatisfying; more that it would be more satisfying if one could use World Anvil more efficiently during gaming sessions. I do a lot of gaming using VTTs, particularly Foundry VTT. There already exists a "mod" for Foundry that allows for linking that tool's Journals feature to World Anvil. However, it is one direction only; WA to Foundry.  

How does this feature request address the current situation?

I'm not even sure that this would ba WA feature or a FoundryVTT one but bidirectional integration between the two would make running sessions in Foundry much easier. I like the WA "session" page/dialog and it would be great if it could be accessed/updated directly from the VTT tool.  

What are other uses for this feature request?

I gather that laying the groundwork for FoundryVTT integration would facilitate expanding that to other web-based VTTs such as Roll20, Alstral, and Shard

I will be very happy to see a birectional integration and further work on what we have there. World Anvil will soon be allowing for POST / UPDATE / DELETE articles via the API but this will require a significant amount of work to be completed, thus MORE VOTES FOR THE VOTE LORD.   Please consider resubmitting

    I would want this more than making world anvil have a FVTT of it's own. Specifically, it would be really helpful for me if I could connect character sheets from WA to FVTT, have session information transfer to WA, have maps go to FVTT. Anything else is gravy :3. This itself would be a dream and would get me off of Roll20.

    Created a WA account specifically for the mod that links to Foundry's Journal. Having real support would be wonderful.

    I know the functionality of this probably wouldn't fall on WA's end, but regardless, I definitely think a focus on collaboration/integration into other popular VTTs would be very beneficial here.

    This would greatly enhance the use of World Anvil thru bi-directional communication with Foundry. No need for World Anvil to create their own VTT. Better to support VTT makers through integration - and allow WA to concentrate on its strengths.

    While I believe there is intention of increasing the integration between WA and FVTY, I assume this may involve the future development of the WA API. I think this is a fantastic focus.
